Default Bolt-ons & CAM C6.. Guess the outcome!

My car is goin' into the garage this week for the installation of bolt-ons + CAM.. It's a 2005 A4 Z51 C6 Coupe (LS2, 4L65e transmission).. Dynoed 330/343 stock with Borla Cat-back..

My mods are: -

Halltech Stinger + Induction Option
LGM LongTube 1¾ headers (Off-Road) & 3" X-Pipe
G5X3 @ 114LSA <-- Had to upgrade springs & valvetrain components with this, hardenned pushrods, etc..
SLP 25% U/D Pulley
LPE 160° Stat
Vigilante 3500 Stall Converter
Borla Stinger Cat-back
Trans-Go Shift kit
B&M 24,000 TransCooler

I'll be tunning the car using HP-Tuners

What kind of numbers should I be expecting in terms of hp and torque..? What sorta times should I be running in the 1/4 mile and how much should I be trapping (drag radials!? Slicks!?)

I would be pleased with 430/415 out of these mods.. Are my expectations too high/low..!?! If I don't reach this I'd probably slap on a fast90 and a set of proven afr or etp heads and pass my expectations by about 20hp and 20ft.lb..

Running the stock z51 3.15 gears.. Contemplating 3.73's .. Won't go higher than that with an A4... Anyone think the 3.42's could serve me better..!?!?

Any thoughts!? ideas!? I don't wanna end up doing this more than one..!

stay with the 3.15 no reason to get gears since u will have the stall and i say 420/400

I'll go 415/390 SAE, but the dyno will have a lot to say about it . The stall is going to eat up some dyno #s, but I put down 400/385 with just a 224/228 cam and stock stall, so the G5X3 will give you more peak hp for sure. I'd be shocked at 430 on a stalled auto with just cam, but I hope you hit it!

I'm guessing 410rwhp.... You need a Fast intake on that thing....

are you guys forgetting he has an auto? I dont think you will see that much, maybe around 390. As far as the gears, the 3.42's would be my choice. A buddie of mine has them in his car and he has pulled a 1.59 60' on drag radials. good luck

Are you forgetting that he's going to lock the verter? Are you forgetting that he has an ls2 motor with better heads and MORE compression? He will put down some great numbers. As far as gears go, I agree with the gentleman that said leave the 3.15's in. No point in changing the gears for a minimal gain when you already have a verter and your vette isn't a heavy pig.

Thanks for all the feedback .. I'll definately be locking the converter when on the dyno... My baseline dyno was taken on one of our hot/humid middle-east summer days so I'm optimistic about the numbers I'm gonna get..

Realistically speaking though, I realise 430 is higher than what I should expect but I also realise that there is a possibility of getting those numbers (dynojet of course)... Is there anything wrong with being optimistic..!?!? I sure hope not! 420/405 should be my minimum expectation though I think... Either way it doesn't matter cuz I'll be adding a ported F.A.S.T and a set of heads by next spring...

By the way, does anyone know where I could get a 90mm ported F.A.S.T (new) from..!? And do you guys think that the gains justify the price?! I'm 24 and I've already wasted most of my money on getting the car and buying the parts.. :-P I've got plans of getting engaged sometime in 2007..! My DIC (Driver1) reads "Never Fast Enough" ..!

Thanx for the feedback in regard to the gears.. I was actually kinda reluctant to get those but peer pressure was overwhelming!

no my memory is just fine . I just dont see 100 rwhp through a STALLED auto with just a cam and bolt ons. he said he made 330 stock w/ just a borla.

You can get a ported FAST from "Tony Mamo @ AFR". That's his name in this board, too. Let us know what the numbers are...

Does anyone else have any modding recommendation(s) (other than the F.A.S.T & the heads)..!? My goal is to have a street-racing beast (1.0 to 1.5 kilometers).. With the power I'm anticipating, I imagine it'll be hard to put all the power down without loosing traction with street tires so it'll probably mostly be rolling starts. I am planning to take the car to the drag-strip every now and then (i'll be using slicks for that) but street performance is where I want to see most of the benefit...

Agree.

People have gained over 25rwhp with his ported 90 on 346's.

Are ya considering to pay a couple of handred $ to get a DTE C6 Rear End Brace cause That would be the easiest way to snap your weak link in the rearend buddy

Already ordered...

Any performance mods other than the FAST 90 and heads!? (I'm contemplating the ETP 215s to be honest)... I've kept those 2 items as additional items that I'll order when I evaluate the performance of the current mods and decide that I sill wanna go faster..

Just called my mechanic and got an appointement to get the car in on the 2nd of December!

Being 24 and hiding away your modding project from your parents can be a problem! I'd really love to get a 90/90 FAST but I'd rather get it when I get the heads in order to be able to get the intake manifold port-matched with the heads.. I'm expectnig some good income in February out of a transaction I'm currently working on and I'll be able to allocate about $10k towards the modding project.. (Already building a house and contemplating getting engaged...! But even that won't stop me from modding..) Spoke to my girlfriend about heads and she told me that I could get a Jacuzzi for that sort of $$$ LOL..!! Someone plz help me justify that to her... j/k

I'd like to know what YOU would do if this was your car.. Other than the mods alraedy in place, I'm thinking of getting a Z06 rear fender kit, starcraft Lingerfelter hood and a set of wheels/tires to match the rear since I doubt that the BFG KDWs would look good after the installation of the rear-fenders (Currently 295/35/19).. Also contemplating a paint-job for the whole car (Currently Machine Silver Metallic). I'd want a dark color.. I'm thinking of very dark purple metallic (black at night) to go with the black chrome wheels that I have in mind..

BTW, I forgot to mention in my first that I'm installing a trans-go shiftkit with the other mods.. Anyone using that!? views/opinions?

I'm dying for an S/C kit but I drive the car quite often and I doubt that it'll be a problem-free mod.. I'm situated in the middle-east thus would like to do this only once..! Thanx for all your comments..!

Car is going in 2 days from now..! The countdown begins..
