Default Vengeance Racing 402 Iron Block/TFS Heads RESULTS INSIDE

I thought some of you might like to see some INDEPENDENT results for a package we put together. This combo was built for a customer in Florida for his Z06. We built the engine and he took it home and installed/tuned it himself.

The engine consists of:

GM Iron Block
Callies Crank
Compstar Rods
Diamond Nitrous pistons (coated tops/sides)
Hell Fire Rings
TrickFlow 225cc Cylinder Heads
Harland Sharp Roller Rockers
Vengeance Racing Custom Camshaft
Cometic Head Gaskets
ARP throughout

This combo was built with a big hit of nitrous in mind... Approximately 200 to 300 once he gets it all dialed in.

#s below are from an independent dyno in Alabama with an independent tuner.

Here is the email from our customer:

Hey Ron
I haven’t had time to post up the results on ls1tech things have been really busy lately since im buying a new house. Here is the graph though in case you want to throw it up.I think it came out pretty damn good considering its set up for the spray and it only has 350 miles on the motor. For the tune we only put in 26 degrees of timing so im sure its gonna pick up with more timing to.
Thanks

Cole

What's up with the big dip at ~3900? Nice numbers...just don't understand what happened to that part of the torque curve...

Yeah...tune would definitely be the first place I look. Just looks kinda odd...oh well. I'm sure they'll get it worked out.

Very strong and very BELIEVABLE numbers from this excellent combination of parts. Love the torque! By the way, that dip at 4000 rpm is a Corvette thing and is a dyno phenomenon that won't necessarily show up on the strip when all 4 wheels are moving (hint, hint). By addressing a few tables in the tune, you can keep the PCM from jacking with the timing when it's on the chassis dyno. Slowhawk has mentioned this in another dyno thread.

Forgot to add it has a Vengeance ported FAST. The gentleman tuning the car said the intake is holding the car back right now. He mentioned the amount of air the MAF was reading and said there are definate intake restrictions

I forgot all about traction control taking timing out...I've had that table zeroed out in mine for quite a while now. Didn't realize it was that big of a power difference just taking out some timing like that...

Good job.... but are these legit numbers?
Can't wait to see what a certain Vengeance L92 416"/TFS 225 does

Any Idea what my 370 would make on a dynojet with a Z06 drivetrain?

It made 480 thru a TH400/12 bolt on a mustang dyno.

Do You Vengence guys only work on Z06's or what? They seem to dyno a little better than Fbodies dont they?

Those numbers are good and believable for a 408.

My motor is set up loose for a 500 shot

I've seen Mustang dyno's that were as high or higher than dynojet's and I've seen Mustang dyno's that were very low. I would guess your power on a dynojet with a 10 bolt or Vette rearend to be 520-550 RWHP with your 130 MPH trap speed. What is your compression and how much does your car weigh? You said it was a solid roller right?

What's going on with the TFS heads that PSI bought? Head comparo?

Swapped over to a Lock up TH400 with 3600 stall and still pulled 450s locked..If we say the Mustang Dyno is 10% off from a DynoJet that would put you at 528rwhp....

Do You Vengence guys only work on Z06's or what? They seem to dyno a little better than Fbodies dont they? We tend to get a lot of Vette traffic through our shop.

Those numbers are good and believable for a 408. It is actually a 402 .. Glad you guys can believe these #s... Considering they were made on a dyno several hundred miles away and the engine was installed by the customer himself.

My motor is set up loose for a 500 shot .... This particular combo is set up for a 200 to 300 shot. Its fairly loose as well.

Probably time to lose the maf then. He is probably getting near the max g/sec value
