I got bored and made many changes, results inside
I swapped my setup around a little bit, and i love the results. My old setup was a forged 347, a set of TEA TFS 215's, an unported fast intake, with a built 4l60e w/ a yank ss4000 stall. This setup made 438rwhp/396rwtq locked @ XXX Motorsports in Pensacola, Florida. This was also on a set of Fikse M5's with bfg drag radials. I had taken the car to the track which is only 1/8th mile and it went a 7.36 1 time and a hole bunch of 7.4x's@ 92mph. it cut an average of 1.60-1.65 60ft. I than wanted to change up the setup to try and get an overall faster time and better performance. I saw some solid results with the AFR 205's which i saw no need to go with AFR 225's because it is still a stock cubed motor. I than decided to purchase these afr cylinder heads and i also wanted to try a ported intake. I got a hold of Tony Mamo and he really came through for me and helped me out immensely. I than ordered a Rossler TH350 w/ a T-brake. i also added a new converter which a ordered through ATI in which i gave them all the specs of the car and what i was going to be doing with the car, and they decided on an 8" 3800 stall. I got all the new parts in and put them on. Overall the only parts i changed was the Heads, Intake, Converter, and Transmission. Everything else stayed the same. i got the new parts put on the car and than had it retuned @ XXX Motorsports. i had a set of Drag Lite 15x8's with a set of Quick Time Pro 27x11.50x15's in the rear. The car now made 405rwhp/374rwtq unlocked. it was a little warmer when i had dyno'd the car before when it made 438rwhp/396rwtq, and it was a little cooler when i dyno'd it with all of the new parts. The only difference between the chambers in the cylinder heads are the TEA TFS where 60cc chambers and the AFR's are 58cc chambers. The car has an overall raceweight of 3650lbs.(it needs to go on a diet) I knew the car wasnt making as much horsepower on the dyno but on the street it felt like there was an UNBELIEVABLE difference in performance. It was a very nice day out today. It was roughly 55 degrees out which was about 10-15 degrees cooler than before when i ran the old setup due to the difference in the time of year. I took the car to the track today with all of the new parts and it really suprised the crap out of me. The track was very well preped so it was a good day for racing. I did not believe the new times that it ran. Overall, it went a best of 7.19@ 97.21mph with a 1.55 60ft off of the T-brake. I still do think that there is more left in this new setup the way it sits, but i am still getting use to the new combo, because i have never owned anything this fast before.
Overall, i am very glad with the decision i have made with going with the new setup, and now i feel like i actually own a car that is a little faster than your average h/c fbody.
