Default 99 Viper dyno results

Got my 99 viper in aug 2006 w/ 26K miles on it..

took it to my local dyno shop and dynoed 410 rwhp and 465 rwt SAE on a dyno jet...

4 months later I added smooth tubes and got rid of the cats for off road pipes. took it to the same dyno and put down 428 rwhp and 473 rwt SAE..

Then yesterday had a buddy install some 1.7 roller rockers..( Harland sharps) Took it back to the same dyno and put down 440 rwhp and 482 rwt SAE. Was expecting around 5 rwhp more with the roller rockers. But 12 rwhp is still worth a tenth and a mph in the 1/4 mile.So I wont complain..

Well my check engine light is still on from removing the cats. not sure if this effects my numbers any or not. Possibly adding long tube headers here shortly ( that ones still up in the air)...

Got an AEM sitting in my closet. Waiting for a feriend to come at the end of the month and install/tune it..Ill redyno right after his AEM tune

Thats not a bad gain at all. I would see how far you could get with the cheaper mods before going to long tubes as from what ive seen, thoes cost an arm and a leg for a viper.

those numbers are not too bad. the AEM boxes for the vipers are a shitton of fun. once it is in you can really have some fun with the tune. we use them on the turbo vipers. if you ever decide to go that route they are the best since it is very hard to trim the injectors from the stock computer when you are using 96# or larger injectors.

Been taking her out and doing gtech runs for the past couple nights..The best i ever did ( out of 100's of runs in the same location)with my mild H/C auto C5 was a 12.6 at 112 mph..

Last nigh with the viper I cracked a 12.5 at 122 mph out of 15 attempts so far..

The viper has a lot more potential. but man my 2.73 auto c5 was easy to launch and get down the 1320

* will be going to a drag strip in July*

Good Luck at the strip, I am sure you will do great. What was the best you did at the track with the C5?

With the mods in my sig I ran a 12.80 at 111 mph off a 2.0 60 ft..Ran 13.5 at 103 bone stock..

This is at a track in hawaii that is usually 2-3 tenths and 2-3 mph slower than average tracks in the mainland.

So Id guess that id be running a 12.7 at 120 mph with the viper at the same track ( track is now closed permamentally)...

Pretty slow but man I just cant hook this thing on the street with the stock tires..

Now when I have the car transported to a different hawaiian island in July to run at their drag strip im hoping for an 11.9 at 120 mph...Many bone stock vipers have done that. so with an extra 30 rwhp I should be able to hit that.

That's a lot of torque.

I don't know much about modded Vipers, but are there good ways to build up the top end? If yes, along with ways to increase RPM's safely, then you could really take advantage of all that displacement (torque).

Good Torquey Viper you got there. Hmmm a Viper in Hawaii, you must get "leighed" all the time. Good luck at the track.

Get your launch down and that should be no problem. Good Luck.

Put a bottle on her. You have the last year of the forged motor, a 200 shot is no problem. The tq is amazing.

Nice 1996 viper you got their b18c1hybrid...

pretty strong one as well. I beleave the fastest 100% proven bone stock 1996-2002 viper time is 11.6..And the fastest proven bone stock mph's are 122..

So your 11.8 at 121 mph is very good..With my skills id be pretty happy with an 12.2 at 118 mph bone stock..

LOUIE83...These things stop making power at 5300 rpm's..And i hit 482 rwt at 4000 rpm's. So the power is pretty much were I want it. Just wanna make more power..

I just got off the phone an hour ago about purchasing some LT headers from a friend. That should put me around 455 rwhp/495rwt. Then in a week or two a friends hooking up my AEM tuner.. Shooting for 470 rwhp/510 rwt.

I think you can pick up a super clean 1996 GTS with 20-30K mile for around 33-38 grand.

You could also probaly find a nice 99 GTS with 20-30 K miles for 40-45 grand

For a 2002 expect 50-60 grand

For a ACR (american club racer) and FE ( final edittion) expect 55-65 grand

*note for the rt10 models of the same year subtract 2 grand*

Also..If you live in vegas or another state were theirs plenty of Vipers then you can subtract around 3 grand for all the prices..

But if your like me and live in hawaii ( or other states like utah/colorado ect. were their are hardly any vipers. You have to add around 3 grand.

Example. here in hawaii I recently saw a 2000 rt10 with 35K miles selling for 46 grand. Same car in vegas/florida would sell for 42 grand
