Default new numbers with the 12 bolt.....

well we had a "dyno challenge" this weekend and i decided to put the SS on the rollers just to see what the new numbers were with the 12 bolt and 3.73 gears.... wasnt expecting to win anything, not like i could with a 900rwhp car right behind.... KYLE! well when i had the car tuned before she put down 352rwhp/360rwtq thru a 10 bolt and 3.42 gears. only mods were longtubes and intake thru stock catback. yesterday she put down 344rwhp/356rwtq and this was with the dual cutouts open this time. i was very surprised that the 12 bolt and gears didnt eat up that much power. i didnt put down the most power that day, but i sure was the loudest out of the group. alot of people video taped so as soon as i get a copy i will post the runs. thanx.

Looks like the 12-bolt ate quite a bit really. Last time on the dyno was through the stock cat-back and this time was open dual cut-outs. That there is like at least 15rwhp. Then you were down 8hp from last time. That is over 20rwhp loss from switching rears and gears.

thats true. i didnt think of it like that. i forgot about the cutouts open this time. do you think dual cutouts can gain 15rwhp?

I have seen as much as 30 over some cat-backs. So 15 is conservative. Depends on the cat-back.

Yeah, the loss from the rear would not affect your timeslip much.

I put down 341whp, 352rwtq through a 9inch and 4:11's. Boltons and no LS6 intake, just a 98 LS1 intake and no cut-outs. I figured me and you were close in power, it would be a good race.

i would love to get a few races in with you sometime before yours or my new mods go in. you should have good advantage with your 4.11's versus my 3.73's. maybe this weekend or something if you come out.

I don't see how you say the 12 bolt did'nt eat power when this time the cutouts were open.

I lost 9hp and 16ft/lbs when I did my 12 bolt swap. Was done on back to back days with the same dyno.

It doesn't matter if you lose 15 or 20 hp on the dyno when you drop your times at the track. Don't worry about the dyno, get the time slips.
