Default Weak Dyno Results

When I bought my car the previous owner showed me dyno numbers at 406whp. Since then I have forged it, stroked her, and lowered the compression in prep for a procharger install. I decided to do a dyno test to get a baseline and the results were mixed. 358whp and 380lbs torque. Way down in hp but the torque line is very flat, it makes 300lbs at 2000 rpm, peak torque is at 4200rpm. I haven't taken her to the track to see what it does, but it feels very strong from the seat of my pants.

The car has H/C from speedinc, don't know the specs.

If it's a low compression engine with a F/I cam, you aren't going to make much power without boost or nitrous.

I think this H/C combo was designed for N/A high compression motor. With the procharger going in soon should I worry about this combo? or is that a wash with all that air coming in?

This is what I did to prep fpr the Procharger.

· Disassemble complete engine
· Clean all parts & analyze
· Degrease block
· Rebore cylinders with torque plate
· Align hone main bearings – check
· Check deck
· Grind & mill for stroker crankshaft
· Assembly clean block
· Competition valve grind
· Replace valve guides – 16
· Hone valve guides
· Resurface heads
· Bead blast heads
· Degrease heads
· Degrease intake manifold
· Magnaflux crankshaft
· Complete balance of the rotating assembly
· Polish & chamfer crankshaft
· Hone pistons to fit pins
· Install pistons onto rods
· Install & fit cam bearings
· Install expansion plugs
· Check bearing clearances – mains & rods
· Assemble complete engine . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Parts consist of:
· Clevitte cam, main & rod bearings
· Eagle 4340 4.00” stroke crankshaft
· GM vibration damper*
· Eagle 6.125” connecting rods
· Diamond pistons & ring set
· Ferrea intake & exhaust valves
· Valve guides
· GM timing chain set
· GM head bolts*
· Cometics head gaskets
· Fel Pro performance gaskets
· Melling oil pump . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Prep for ProCharger Upgrade:
· Chassis dyno & tune
· FAST 60#/hr fuel injectors . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

· ATI damper
· ARP head studs . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Is there a lot of overlap on that cam you have right now. Too much overlap and you lose some of the boost you should be making. You changed over to lower compression pistons and went from 406 rwhp to 385 rhwp. Makes sense, lower compression, lower horsepower. I would think about going with a set of Cometic head gaskets.

What are the specs on the cam you have? What heads do you have, and what size combustion chamber ??
