Default 232 cam-only dyno #'s (stock intake mani)

with mods in sig (full bolt ons minus ls6 intake and pulley) i dynoed on a dyno danamics dyno (lower readings than a mustang dyno suppoedly). the guy said you have add a 13% correction factor to get what a dynojet reading would have been. corrected #s are...

404.7 hp
387.5 ft. lbs.

i was hoping for around 380 or so since ive still got the restrictive ls1 manifold so i was kinda surprised at the #'s. these sound a little high? peak tourque was at 4700 rpms and peak power was at 6400 rpms. ill post the graph later.

Little higher, yeah you could say that, but there are no "correction factors" to convert to a dynojet number. A correction factor is to correct to SAE weather conditions. What they are giving you is their "guess factor" Put it on a dynojet if you want dynojet numbers, otherwise race it and tell eveyone what she runs its way more fun that way My cam only cam makes those numbers almost exactly and runs11.3 at 122. I tell people it runs 1.3s and it dynoes 122 mph

well i almost thought it was too good to be true, thast why i ws wanting some input and feedback about it. thatd put me around 415-420 cam only if i got an LS6 intake mani, and that just aint believable to me with the mild cam i have.

Great numbers. Just seems to prove that most all the 224-232 cams put down power period. You're really gonna want gears to really wake it up going down the track.

I think it's silly to post up "corrected" numbers based on a percentage of what the dyno operator told you. I wouldn't sig the "fake" numbers either.

According to your "13%" your uncorrected numbers were..
352rwhp/329rwtq. Definitely off for that setup. Maybe the dyno was miscalibrated.

I have a friend who dynoed 338rwhp on a Dyno Dynamics, then dynoed 330rwhp on a dyno jet. Very similar weather on both days.

yea that was me. i hate that track....whenever you stage, if you let off the brake you start to roll and ya redlight. i couldnt ever get an accurate time bc it woul redlight me each time. its like the beginning of the track or sorta uphill or somethin...why did you only run your car once tho? it looked real nice!

yea im on stock heads, the uncorrected number were 359 hp. its making more than 360 i think, regardless of the fact its got stock intake manifold. i see this cam paired with an ls6 intake, usually makes around 400. so maybe the dyno was a little off, but im confident it makes more than 360 lmao. i was told by the operator that this dyno reads even lower than a mustang dyno.

Don't be afraid of a low dyno number, dynos don't mean ****. If you want to post up a number, go to a dyno jet and see what it does, that way there's no BS conversion factor, and there's real solid numbers.

I really didn't plan on running at all that day. It was so hot out. But its so hard not to run when your at the dragstrip. You are right though. the left lane is worse than the right lane as far as rolling back and redlighting. Evertime I stage I'm to busy worring about rolling than getting a good launch.

A dyno is a tuning tool and there is no comparison factor between differnet dynos. You should stay use the same dyno for ever pull you make that way you know your getting an accurate measurement of gains or losses with different calibrations and modifications. I would also disagree that mustang dynos "read" lower than dyno dynamics. My car baselined 284whp on a mustang and 295whp on the dyno dynamics, and the dd pull was in worse weather! Throw a ls6 intake manifold on, and repull/tune the car on the same dyno dynamics dyno and see what type of gains you made.

And also your 13% math is wrong even if you were doing some bogus calculation saying that dd reads 13% lower than the mustang. Your numbers should have been 352/337 like melchoir said.

Also i dont want to sound like I'm flaming you I'm just saying that you shouldn't use any dyno-dyno corrections just go with the numbers you got. Thats a nice number for the ls1 intake, torque is low but a little lower duration cam might have netted you better torque. My 226/226 made 350whp and 370ft lbs on a dyno dynamics with my ls1 intake and stock pulley.
