03 viper weighs 3380 lbs our cars are about the same. The 07 vette is only 3150 lbs. We are calling it a pig compared to the vette.

That is not exactly a pig. That's one passenger (**** i weigh 220 myself). The gearing would affect it more than that xtra weight esp. given the nice difference in torque.

I still say anythin lighter than 3500 w/ a V8 or V-10 can't be called a pig. If it's a V6, I-6, or 4cyl. maybe but come on. How do you autmatically jump on that?

My car weighs more than that by a good 80lbs. for god's sake. Oh and i make 125hp and 155ft.lbs. less. So then by that definition, my car is an underpowered FAT Pig.

Anything competing with the 06 and newer z06 is a pig just because the z06 is so baddass with all the weight reduction. Balsa wood floors magnesium engine cradle carbon fiber this and that. There are cars that cost 200 grand and weigh 200 lbs more. They are all pigs compared to the z06 just deal with it.

[QUOTE=Killemall]

My Viper had a lot more torque but his C6Z06 has a lot more gear with his 3.42's vrs my 3.07's...

QUOTE]

it will be interesting to see if the Vipers torque can overcome the extra gear of the Z06.

One of the best mods for the Viper is 3.55 gears.

The 2006 C6Z06 weighs 3140 pounds..

The 2007's added sound deadening and ect. and weigh in at 3190 pounds..

Again a 2003 SRT vert at 3380 pounds vrs a 2007 3190 pound C6Z06 is only a 190 pound weight differance.

As for my roller rockers...

On my 1999 Viper these were good for 12 rwhp..But the 1999 Viper has 1.8 roller rockers so going to 1.7's is worth a decent return..

But my 2003 came factory stock with 1.79's's...The after market roller rockers are around a 1.75's..

So it's barely a jump at all and usually 5-7 rwhp vrs 10-15 rwhp for the gen 2 models like my 1999...

I havent ran my Viper at an strip as there are none on my island..

But I have run it with my FX2 timer that I purchased from circuit city..When we had a drag strip a few years ago I used this timer at the drag strip and found it to be within 1 mph and 1 tenth of my actual time slip...Many times it was dead on....

Ill post my results with this Vipers 459 rwhp and 492 rwt SAE shortly

WHAT IVE BEEN ABLE TO RUN SO FAR AT 1000 FT ELEVATION IN 75 DEGREE WEATHER WITH 0 PREP with the 459/492 SAE

Well like any one who gets a new car i wanted to see what she could do...

The problem is that the one and only drag strip on my island closed down 2 years ago..

Wow it was open i used my Circuit city bell tronics fx2 timer numerous times at the actual drag strip and compared it's results to my actual time slips..

I found the unit to be Extremely accurate to within a tenth and mph...

I went to the same "spot" were my.....

"The Spot"= 1000 ft above sea level and typical 70-75 degree hawaii night time air

Mild H/C auto 2.73 geared C5 ran a best of 12.6 at 112 mph out of 100 runs

1999 bolt on tuned rt10 ran a best of 12.2 at 121.7 mph out of 75 runs

1998 Supercharged v6 camaro ran a best of 14.9 at 93 mph out of 150 runs

Heres how my rookie as drove my new 2003 SRT10

24 Aug

1-12.7 @ 114
2-12.4 @ 115
3-12.4 @ 116
4-12.5 @ 115.6
5-12.4 @ 115

Man this car SUCKS I thought...Littel did I no that I was shifting when that damn yellow arrow appeared and really to early at 5500 rpm's or so

Tried shifting a lil later

6-12.4 @ 117.9

And then a lil later

7-12.37 @ 119.0
8-12.25 @ 119.3

And then on my 9th and final run shifting right before red line I clicked off a

9-12.08 @ 118.9 1.93 60 ft 7.9 @ 91.3 1/8
0-60 mph in 4.13

Very happy with the ET but dissapointed in the 119 max trapps I called it a night

25 AUG

I baby shifted on these runs trying to see if I could hit 120 mph trapps

10-12.77 @ 115.6
11- 12.75 @ 118.1
12-12.43 @ 120.2

YEA BABY a 120 trapp..Not to shabby and I called it a night

1 SEP

Tonight I wanted an 11 second pass and was all buisness

13- 12.5 at 115.9 getting warmed up
14- 12.4 @ 117.8
15-12.26 @ 119.2
16- 12.1 @ 120.5
17- 11.97 @ 121.3 60 ft 1.97 7.9 @ 93.5 1/8 0-60=4.05 !!!!!!!!! HELL YEA
18-12.1 @ 120.2
19-12.1 @ 120.1
20- 12.05 @ 122.2 ( highest mph yet)!!!!!!!!!!

21- 12.08 @ 121.4

Then I called it a night...

The car had a 1/2 tank of gas on the 11.97 run...I feel confident that with another 10-15 passes and a 1/4 tank of gas that a 11.8 at 123 mph will be obtained....

BTW...Who ever thanks a 2003-2006 SRT10 can hit 60 mph in first gear is WRONG...I tried many times and the car will hit the limiter at around 59 mph....

As well hitting 0-60 mph in 3.8 or 3.9 in an SRT10 like some mags repoted is nearly impossible on a normal non prepped driving surface...

The car has to be shifted to second gear...And the 60 ft MUST be a very low 1.9 or high 1.8...As well very little gas for weight savings wouldnt hurt...

Not saying it cant be done cas on a prepped surface at the drag strip it wouldnt be a big deal hitting a low 1.9 or high 1.8 60 ft on your way to a quick shift and 0-60 in 3.8-3.9...

But in real driving comditions unless your name is Evan Smith forget about it and say hello to 4.0's

Hey Killmall...I am calling you out. You are a phoney. I feel sorry for you making up car stories just so people will converse with you. Your fictional viper could not keep up with a stock C5 06 let alone the C6 z06. Did you get kicked of the viper forum? At least you could come up with some car that had the paper claims to make your b.s. believable. At least the ford guys do not have to make excuses for there truck engine...have you ever listened to how your car sounds?

Nice runs!

Keep us updated, it's cool to hear what other car brands are running and how much they gain from various mods.

No, 2008 is the 1st year that any Viper is rated at 600 crank hp. Prior to that, the highest was 510.

Big factory numbers from the 08 Viper. I can't wait to find one to run. I want to see what my car can do. I am a bit worried, I only have 5.7 liters to work with compared to more then 8 ltrs and 10 cylinders like the big bad VIPER. I think it would be a damn good race. 0-150 I get him by several or more cars. Just my prediction considering I got the right tire to dig with now.

I think that a 2008 Viper will put 3 cars on a C6Z06 from 70-140 mph...I think your car can do the same..

I say it will be a good race..Ad I cant wait to hear the results

Hey man no offense but road and track tested the 2003 SRT10 Viper and the C5Z06 on the same day..

The SRT10 ran a 11.7 at 123 and the C5Z06 ran a 12.4 at 116

My head/cam auto C5 with 378 rwhp could beat C5Z06's at the strip..I wont even comment on what eighter of my Vipers would do to a stock C5Z06..

But I will say this..The C5Z06 will and always has been one of my all time favorite cars..

When that thing hit the streets in 2002 with 405 HP you were getting 95% of 2002 GTS Viper 75 grand performance for only 50 grand..And the vette even handled a little better.

Ill never forget how that blew my mind..

One mag even got a 12.4 at ONE-HUNDRED-SEVEN-TEEN-MPH..

Considering the 2002 Vipers were doing 118-119 mph trapps. Thats was amazing for only 50K
