Please don't take this as a slam. These are good numbers for a 346. I just bought these exact heads for my 383. I am a little concerned seeing your numbers. That is a 500rw combo with AFR's or TFS's. We will have to see what my car puts down when I get it done.

Not from MTI, they do not inflate their numbers. Yes it may have been closer to 500 w/ the tfs's or afr's but I did not want to spend another $1200 for those heads. I am having driveablilty issues now and need to have it retuned, badly. Goes back in on Thursday for another tune.

I see Ron's ported intake helped you out. Good numbers. Congrats !!!
What kind of drivability issues ? Stalling, surging, bucking ?? You got a big cam, you can only do so much. LG Motorsports worked OT on my tuning issues and got it about as good as she's going to get. Rarely stalls anymore. Once in awhile when the A/C is on or I come down from a couple WOT runs and then have to try to drive in stop and go traffic. She doesn't like those sudden changes.

I must disagree. We have had plenty of 480WRHP cars now with smaller cams. The only one combo where the customer wanted a bigger cam and had every supporting mod made over 510 to the ground in a M6 Vette. The number's are solid though in this build. Is there a potential for more with a ETP or TFS? I believe so but the number's no the less are stout.

I think the tuning issues come from cams with tighter than 114 lobe seperations regardless of duration and lift. This will be put to the test with my new cam. It is larger than what I have now but with a 114 lobe sep instead of the 112 I have now. I have done six cars now to include my own with cams and heads and cams. The 114 sep cam cars are a dream. They fire right up and don't need alot of tweaking. The 112 cars are nightmares to include my own. I won't even run them any more. All I will install and tune are 114 cams. I may suck at tuning but that is just my experience.

so your telling me if i swap my TEA 5.3s to 215 tfs or afr 205 ill gain 60hp? dont think so, not to mention they told me at tea i would probably only gain about 20 more rwhp with their 215 tfs. if these numbers are so true i want to see 124-125mph trap speeds in full weight cars other wise im still kinda fishy bout this.

that really just shows your inexperience tuning. The 112 cams are easy to tune. I myself ran a 110 LSA cam in a stock cubed f-body w/TEA Stg. III 5.3's, and didn't have any problems tuning it. The car made 464/419 through a ported LS6 intake and ported stock TB.

Unbelievable. Well I should say that the only tuning issue I have is the off throttle return to idle surging. I can tune it out but I have to go through a whole ordeal to get there. There is also a big difference tuning a drive by wire car. I don't drill holes in the TB blade and I don't have a screw to set to always allow a certin amount of air in. Tuning a Vette is much more complex in my opinion. I guess LG motorsports is really inexperienced in tuning as well since Allngn's car has issues as well. I will send you my bin, if you can fix it for me and point out what I am doing wrong I would greatly appreciate it.
Sudz. Who is talking about TEA 5.3's. We are talking about TSP LS6 2.5's. My car made 465/445 with the same size cam with an LS6 intake and ran 101 1/8th and 127 1/4 not being able to shift under power. (clutch wouldn't disengage under power) I didn't get any track numbers after I switched to AFR 225's and Vengance 90/90. But the car made 497/457 with that combo in 91* heat.

No inflated numbers with this car, why would we want to inflate numbers using someone else's heads and ported intake?? The car made great power given the amount of money that was spent on the combination. Is there 40 more hp to be had using Trick Flows or AFR's?? I doubt it. The car needs a little fine tuning which will be taken care of on thursday.

The car will not idle when the a/c is on; found that out the other night when it was raining. Had to ride home with the windows down. It also has three distinct surges/lunges in first/second gear. It also has a surging idle, especially when clutched and coasting; it drops down to about 500-600 rpms and then slowly comes back up after that. I understand that there is some tradeoff when going with a bigger cam, but it is definately worse now than before the heads/intake.
