Default Viper question

What do H/C/I na Vipers make?? I know it can vary according to setup, but I was just trying to see how far over 600 they were.

I tried searching on some viper forums and known tuners and all I could find was the Goddamn turbo numbers.

I've seen on average about 530rwhp - 550rwhp for a Heads/Cam Viper

Really?? I thought that they should go over 600 without too much of a problem on some of the more aggressive setups.

We've seen 500-530 on our Mustang dyno, with nitrous we hit 880lbs of torque. The one had a hurt motor and only rev'd to about 5800rpm before falling off. We should have another S/C viper on the dyno next week....

Alot of these numbers are lower than what I was expecting. Is this because most people go directly to a turbo setup or blower???

My friends 04 Viper made 495rwhp with bolt ons and cam. It only trapped 119 however, it runs like a mid to high 120mph car on the freeway. I trapped 118 on motor and he walks away from me. If he can't drive and/or doesn't know his car he will start in second from a 40 roll, the viper should be in first.

I wonder how much it costs in parts to do a heads/cam swap with all the basic bolt-ons.

The reason is because nost viper owners decide not to spend the money on porting their 5 cylinder heads looking for similar power gains of their ls1 counterparts, when they can add boost for the same money as ls1's but get more power out of their FI kit. Thats why.

As far as for S/C's it's only for Vipers (they will be producing the S/C kit for the limited production 09 Vipers). They are starting to dabble around with the SRT-8 stuff, but they specialize in Vipers. Up until about a month ago, they had the only tuning solution for the Vipers, a little piggy back box called the VEC-3, internal 3bar MAP sensor. Very nice stuff.
