Default vortech results

I got a good deal on a complete vortech kit fuel stuff and all. just got it installed and dynoed.

2001 SS

V9 aftercooled kit. 38lb injectors. T-rex inline fuel pump. Longtubes. TSP catted Y-pipe. TSP rumbler muffler.

Im at 5300 feet so I think I lost a little boost. It only made 6 pounds. fuel pressure holds steady at 54-55 psi.

But I am happy with the results. Car runs pretty good now. Let me know what you all think.

453 HP

432 ft/lbs

11.8 a/r

I know its worthless without printout, but I dont have a way to get it online.

Very nice numbers. If you had a good set of heads and a cam to go with it!! You could see some really good numbers! Need to get up around the 9lbs boost. Good Luck, I bet it sounds sweet!

Good numbers! I bet that really woke the car up!

Did you do the install yourself? How was it?

I did not install the blower. My friend owns a shop and he did it for me.

It runs strong now. But everyone warns that power is addicting...It is! I am already planning on upgrading internals so I can make more power. LOL

3.12 I think...whatever the stock pulley is. I have the next smaller pulley also. I think its like 2.9??? I want to put it on, but Im afraid to hurt my motor since it is completely stock. I will just wait till I can upgrade everything else before I put more boost through it. plus I want to put 6.0 heads on it and get a blower cam for it.

At least you did it right and got the blower and are gonna do the blower cam now. On my LT1 cam I got a blower cam in anticipation of the blower that I never bought, lol. Let's just say I had the most underachieving cam only LT1 ever.

for that elevation those are great numbers. you can pulley down to a 2.9 on teh stock bottom but I wouldn't go more than that.

enjoy it!

Those are some good looking numbers at 6psi with no internal mods. Get that boost cranked up after building it. Are you going to do the heads/cam at the same time as building the bottom end?

thanks for all the compliments guys. I am loving it!! I just had a 3" true dual exhaust built last week and it felt like it picked up maybe a little power.

I have been on here researching my brains out looking at different motor options.

pay someone to tear apart and rebuild mine? sell mine and buy a complete motor? By the time I pay someone to tear my motor apart, and rebuild it, I will be close to the price of an assembled motor from a reputable sponsor on here.

I am going to go forged bottom end, drop compression, get some nice 6.0 heads, a good blower cam. Im gonna wait till I have the money to do everything at one time. including 60 lb injectors, upgraded fuel pump, 9" rear. I know it will be hard to do with a vortech, but I am shooting for 600 at the wheels with a motor that can handle the power no problem. just gonna be patient and wait till I can afford to do it all right the first time.

any opinions? I need all the info I can get!

453rwhp @ 6# is great at your altitude!

Since you're not doing the work yourself, I recommend selling yours and working with a good engine shop to build you up a good longblock. Check OhioCrank, since I just bought an assembled 434 SBC shortblock from them and when I took it apart (being ****)everything was right where it should be.
