Default 100% stock 2000 t/a,6speed 150k

Well i just got off the dyno today. I just picked up the car 2 weeks ago. I was looking for something cheap for a project. I found this 2000 trans am with 150k for miles. Its a 6-speed with no mods at all. I just got done checking out the plugs, Yeah stock. Painted tips witch is factory. I put down 274hp and 283rwt. yeah i know not the greatest but more than i expected. the compression is fine. I'm getting ready to tear it down and do some heads, cam and a couple other things.

Very Nice. My Formula has 152,340 on it! Was this on a dynojet dyno and was the car in need of a tune up? I'm sure you could get closer to 300ft lbs of torque out of her Also did you get a good price of her?

No the dyno was a super flow. The guys at the shop said they rear 10-15 lower than a dynojet. so maybe for other people i might have around 280-290. With a 150k my car seems to run just as hard as the ones with 30k.

Change all the fluids over to sync, trans diff blah blah

tune up, and bring it to a dyno jet and see how it runs

Very nice! Yea I'm not scared of any LS1 with high miles. This is my 3rd one. My Formula runs just as well as my Corvette with 70k on it

I'll be taking care of the tune up in the next couple days. I'm getting headers and ory here in the next couple weeks to possible take care of the cloged cats. Before i do the heads and cam i'm going to take it back on last time to see what its puts down with a couple bolt ons. Next post in the next couple weeks will have dyno numbers with the following mods.

MTI LID.
PACESETTER LONG TUBES.
ORY.
BELLOW.
LS6/BBK INTAKE.
FREE MODS.
AND A GOOD TUNE UP, PLUGS, WIRES, DIFF FLUID, TRANS FLUID. SYNTHETIC OILS,....... GET THE POINT.

What do most of these cars dyno at stock??

152,xxx on my Formula!

My old 01 SS dynoed 306hp 321 ft lbs tq on a dynojet. 49,000 miles on her at the time stock to the paper filter.

Most pre 2001 LS1 M6 cars will dyno right around 300 or higher

Thanks for the replies. I was just getting some idea if this is were i should be for numbers. Headers are on the way and all the fluids are wainting for me at my work. I work at a gm/ford dealership as service manager, so everything was pretty easy to get my hands on. Plus a big bonus i get to use the shop/lifts and equipment anytime i want
