A4 H/C Dyno Results - Absolute 5.3L Stage 2 / TR 224
I don't know what the heck is going on. I expected maybe 350 RWHP because I still have stock manifolds. Not even close.
On the same dynojet I have been using since I was stock.
332.6 RWHP @ 6000
358.2 RWTQ @ 3600
I gained 36 RWHP? WTF!!
On a Mustang dyno, numbers were
353.6 RWHP @ 5700
403.0 RWTQ @ 3600
Its offical my car is a dog. But at least I ran a bit better at the track
On a 100 shot
7.61 @ 91.67 1.71 60'

Maybe theres something wrong in the tuning?
You should of got 36 RW with the cam alone. Whats your AF, was the car Autotaped?

No tuning yet. A/F was 12.8 - 12.9. Yes, Atapped. No knock. Timing @ 28
I did buy the cam used. I hope he didn't sell me something else. But Thunder Racing did verify the serial numbers.

I can't believe that your numbers were that low on a dynojet. The fact that you dynoed higher on a Mustang Dyno is indicative of some pretty good power. Traditionally, Mustang dynos read lower than Dynojets do. Something's not right... How much faster on nuts and bolts is it from before?
BTW, I'm sure once you put headers on the car, it will really wake up.

I would go to a different dyno.. Like the other guys have said that jsut doesn't make any sense. The Mustang dyno numbers are less than a dynojet. I had a Comp 218/218 .563/.563 114lsa and GTP stage II with no headers, and I dynoed 360hp and 360tq on a dynojet.. This may be a good reference for you. The numbers were from my 1999 Z28 A4, stock stall, ls1 intake.
Good Luck getting it all straightened out.

Ed, that sucks.
So, can I run you N/A??
lol
Anyway, Steph and I are out of here the second week of August. Will there be another Fry's cruise we can attend?

Yeah get some Longtubes, Tuning, and other liitle mods and I think youll be just in the ballpark.
With a H/C car, LT's are a MUST! If you read higher on a Mustang Dyno, I would take it to a different shop with a Different Dynojet. See what you get there, but now until you have tuning, headers, and complete your bolt ons. Then Im sure youll be happy.
Just my .02

I used that Dyno Jet because they had my previous numbers. I thought I could get a good comparision. Everyone that day were getting low numbers. A 96 Cobra only dynoed 270 RWHP.
What is interesting is @ the 1/8 track, I was running 8.5 N/A and 7.6 on a 100 shot. So I know my power is low.
There was another SS there with H/C's, LT's, A4 with a stall. Running 7.7. No bottle.
I just don't get it. Are LT's going to give me 60-70 RWHP?? I don't think so.

GET SOME LONGTUBES! Your stock manifolds and cats are choking the motor. You have more air being sucked into the motor and now you have to move it out, the stock manifolds are very restrictive.
Keep us posted.

Something doesnt sound right, maybe a low hp dyno like a (mustang dyno robbing around 10-25rwhp?) or I think you need some real tuning like LS1 edit. Also if you throw some LT's with off road pipe you would pick up around 15-20rwhp on a H/C car. I am in ca too and I wont pass smog thats for sure but I would look around into someone that can pass smog for you or just bolt some cats up when the time comes. Your missing some power thats for sure.
Also what other bolt ons do you have? Do you have an LS6 manifold, maf ends, FTRA, ported throttle body, good flowing cat back or cut out? Cant expect too gain that much without all the bolt ons, thats more power right there.

Once you get LT's and a good tune you'll be close to 400 or more. You have a lot of air going in, but you just made it harder for the engine to exhale the spent gases. GET SOME LONG TUBE HEADERS!!!.
Since you still have stock timing, you will dyno low.
BTW - with no tuning your A/F can't be 12.8-1 with a head and cam package, almost impossible.

Get some emission legal longtubes with cat's man...a while ago i put a hot cam in my car, i only picked up 1 RWHP and 3RWT with the stock manifolds...then i put slp long tubes on it and picked up 39 RWHP over the stock manifolds in my A4...and that was with a gay *** hot cam...u should pcik up more..and i was on stock heads..just put some longtubes on it and you should fly later ,

But looks like headers are what my issue is. I just didn't think they would make that much of an difference. Because there is another user on this board who ran stock manifolds and got "Result (still through stock manifolds) : 378.7 RWHP, 356.2 RWTQ "

On the same dynojet I have been using since I was stock.
332.6 RWHP @ 6000
358.2 RWTQ @ 3600
I gained 36 RWHP? WTF!!
