Ron, do u have any VRX5 dyno graphs? I cant find many people with dyno numbers on it. Mines getting closer to running on a dyno, but i'd like to know what other people are running.

Wonder how much it would make without the ported fast 92?

Hrmm, i have basically the same setup and i didnt put down anywhere NEAR those numbers. The real difference is the TB and intake both of which are stock. Although, i gotta admit, that cam does feel very nice compaired to a couple of cams i have experianced in my life. The cam sounds nasty for what it is.

Wow, amazing numbers from that cam, especially the torque. He's gonna need a 12-bolt so he doesn't destroy that stock rear.

Ive seen them do around 400-405 w/o a intake, The thing is with a ported 90/92 is that with a stock cyl headed car, there is only so much your going to get out of it. There is only so much air that can be pumped.

WHen you got a ported head in there the potential again increases give the combo.

You have to look at little things that are different that add/subtract power
10-bolt vs. 12-bolt (As much as 10-15hp difference)
textralia which is lighter vs. the ls7 clutch (another 10-15 hp possibly depending on how much wieght difference)
I didn't see if you had an underdrive pulley. (Another 7-10hp)
His Kooks vs. your pacesetters (Possibly 5-10hp difference)
Ported FAST vs. Stock ls6. (Anywhere from 10-20hp)

All of those things add up here and there to usable rear wheel power. Granted, you can't add all of them for a specific number, but I could see a solid 25-35 hp difference between your two setups. Am I close? I didn't see you post a dyno number.

Ok i put down 370/370 on the same dyno but here was a couple of my problems.

1.) I had a chopped up flowmaster exhaust setup (major exhaust leaks, the upgrade to magnaflow was probably a 5-10 hp)
2.) Had hookers on att of the dyno with those numbers (5-10 hp difference i dont think so w/ just kooks, they are good, but not that good)
3.) Unfortunatly, i had just pulled off the underdrive pulley (so that hp i can see making a difference of 5-10)
4.) Ported Fast vs Stock LS6 10/20 hp, i could see that. so we'll call it 15 to make it even.
5.) Rear End 10-15 easily being a 12 bolt.
6.) The clutch that i was using was a stock POSer... that was slipping like it was on ice and pulled the 370/370.

So lets take the average of all these numbers of total losses that i have over this guy. From what your saying;

Rear - 13
clutch - 13
pulley - 8
exhaust - 7
intake - 15
=ing 56 hp over my 370 making him pull (if math is averaged) 426?

Im not trying to say its bs, i am trying to figure out why im roughly 56hp behind this guy. But, lets say i get everything fixed. The only two things he really has over me that are killing me HP wise against his pull is my rear end and intake (TB/port included). Of ROUGHLY 26hp. Well, i guess if that is that case i can deal with that. I can launch at 6k rpm, I'd like to see him do that **polishes his rear end** KISS IT BABY KISS IT!!! (the rear end do hicky thingy)

So you agree on the 26hp from intake and rear, but you also said that your clutch was slipping like it was on ice, well, that's going to cost you power as well, plus the Textralia clutches are lighter if I remember correctly, which will give some power as well. Add in another 10-20hp for a slipping clutch, and then another 7hp for an UD pulley and you're closer to 40hp difference.

I'm not making excuses, but all the little things add up. Just look at how you added up all of that and came up with 426hp, he dyno'd 420, that's pretty close in my book.
