I am really thinking about selling my ms4 for this cam, I am wondering how much difference there is in the cam? my ms4 isn't the greatest as a daily driver. I think I would really love more down low torque than my ms4 but still pull like a freight train.

Hmm. I have an F14 waiting to be installed. May sell it and go this route though.

I don't plan on doing gears... How high would you guys recommend spinning this on a stock bottom end? This thing with a FAST setup looks like it would pull to 6600+

i cant see you seeing much of a difference... well at least going through the hassle of a cam swap and youll end up with similar results

I was personally impressed with how smooth this car drove. quite a few big sticks feel pretty rough down low and this one ran smooth as class. Also the torque difference between this cam and many others was outstanding. I don't think joey mentioned it but one of the primarys on this car was smashed about shut and then patched back together by an exhaust shop. If this thing had a nice set of Kooks or ARH, a good intake and 90mm, throttle body it would be one hell of a freak. I don't even think the throttle body was ported on this car.

Nice results, yeah a pull from 2300-2500rpm would be nice to see the torque.

i dont see why a pull from that low of an RPM is necessary? who in their right mind starts a race (and wants to make POWER) at 2300 rpm? No offense^^^^

No, your absolutely right, nobody starts a race at an rpm that low but doing a WOT pull from a low rpm will give a good idea of the part-throttle torque around 2k-2.5k. (the under the curve power)

i love how everyone says this...yet no one considers how often they'll be pulling 2300rpm at WOT. 99% of the time you're at that low of an rpm you're hardly on the gas in an effort to go fast. i'd guess the part throttle differences of the cams at low rpm and low load are within 10lb ft which would be unnoticable given the conditions.

but...whatever.

We could argue about this all day but the point of this thread is Tick Performance's new cam. It makes great torque b/c of an earlier IVC point which creates more cylinder pressure hence more torque. You would be surprised how certain cams can make 30-40 more rwtq at part throttle around 2k because the cam has a higher DCR. Throw some heads on this setup and increase the SCR to 11.5 and the torque would really pick up.

Wrong, and I have personal experience on the same car with different cams.

What's the PTVC on a set of PRC stage 2.5 5.3L heads with this cam?

^ Yeah that's not going to clear. If it only has .060 with the stock heads I would say your going to have to flycut with the 5.3's.

So I would be looking at PRC Stage 1.0 LS6 heads if I don't want to flycut. Gotcha.

no you wouldn't start a race at that low of a rpm, but you telling me you arn't going to drive the car in that rpm range, or does your car magically go from idle to 3k rpms.

Hey they are the ones to claim great low end power with a big stick so i want to see it

I would just flycut or get some forged pistons. You could mill them heads down and get that compression up then. More power man that's the name of the game.
