Default FAST 90 vs 92 intake

has anybody compared the 2 and seen any difference? I have a FAST 90 now but can get a good deal on a 92mm and I was wondering if its even Worth the time to change them out.
Thanks,

Worth the time, yes. Worth the $, probably not. I doubt you will see many people changing them out.

No personal experience, but I doubt there will be enough gain to make it worth the money.

I'm looking at $100 difference after I sell my 90/90. that's why I was even considering it.

i dont think there would be substantial performance increases. I thought the main thing people are harping on are the seals and other more dependable build in the 92mm version.

90/90's are only worth about 900 and the 92 is 850 new +tb so its just if u want to waste the money for a few extra unless ur gonna have it opened up to 95mm or 100mm

The intake seal itself is not even 95mm, so the people claiming to open them up to 95mm are not exactly.......Whatever.

For $100 & about an hour's work, I say go for it and post up some results. Is either intake ported?

I would like to go from my ported FAST 78, to a ported 90 or 92.

I have a ported 90/90, and i wouldn't consider the switching. I would have to pay to have it ported again plus the additional cost.

You could just order the upper shell... (i believe thats where all the changes are anyways) Plus I dont believe that is touched in the porting.

The choke in a FAST intake is not in the throttle neck, but in the port runners. Going from 90 to 92mm on the throttle neck does not gain power. The 92 is a nicer intake though. Better fasteners.

I have heard the 92 is the exact same as the 90 size wise on the throat. It is just called the 92 since it is a second generation with a few improvements. That is the only way they would be able to tell the differences was calling it a 92. Stick with your 90.

I would keep your Fast 90mm intake. I don't think its worth the trouble over the 92mm intake even for a $100.
