Whats that Post-Dyno Sound?
Whats that Post-Dyno Sound? Ive been watching a lot of dyno vids lately and after the 4th gear pull theres a loud WHISH sound. What is that? And whats with people covering thier ears?
its the tires....the rollers have a surface that is very rough to help the tires from spinning. its like some aggressive mud tires on the street, they make noise. gotta remember these cars do 120-150 mph on the dyno.

Turbo's will do this, as they are getting rid of a ton of air in the system.
On my dynojet, we have the eddycurrent, so the brakes only work from 10 mph and below, above that is eddy braking, so it is very smooth.
Tires make some noise, but I've never thought of it being loud like your mention (but then again, my dyno fans are 10 hp motors, so they make some serious noise. And i've done thousands of pulls, and forget a lot.
