2006 Mustang GT vs. 1998 Trans AM
My neighbor and i have had an ongoing battle since i moved in. I build a porch he builds a bigger one. I get a 4 person hottub he gets a 6 person one...well he has been givin me **** since i bought my TA a month ago. He's like "wait till i get my car...it'll walk all over yours". Just plain talking **** lol. Well he's been hounding me to race him for the last 2 days. As he just purchased a bone stock 06 Mustang GT. My 1998 TA is also bone stock. Both cars are autos....
do you think i'll be able to shut him up or not?? Hate to lose and really hear about that to....
As far as i can tell i think it would all come down to the driver... what do you think?????

the auto's in the new mustangs r very good and dont rob as much power as the old 1's. out of the hole the mustang will beat u but at the end of a 1/4 mile u should barely b pulling ahead. but watch out with just a cai/tune ive seen 3 or 4 run high 12's but still only trapping 105-107

1BADLS1, you should'nt have a real problem since its also an auto but just be on your game. You should be able to put a length or so on him if you guys stay in it until 100-120, no worries.
When you have "what will happen" threads, we have started a new section "Dyno and Bench Racing" so I am going to move this there.
After the race, jump back on here and start a new thread telling us how much you beat him by.
Try to use this section for kills that HAVE happened.

If the OP has 2.73s, it will be a good one....the A5's in S197s are 3.31s.

I have raced so many stock 05 - 08 gt before i got my tranny biult, back with my lid and cutout, mostr of the toime with the cutout closed, so I was like 99.9999 stock. from a dig he should hang for like 4 seconds and then you start pulling. From a roll he will pull until about 75 and they they fall flat on there face as the ls1 keeps pulling the whole range. It depends how well kept your car is, and if it in good shape (it is 10 years old). But he should be the one worrying not you

Its a "GU5" but the dealership replaced the ring and pin right befor i bought it. I called them and they dont know what exactly was put in it. It runs around 2200RPM at 65mph. anyone know what gears they might be?

I'm sure the dealer would have put stock setup back in, unless you specified otherwise.
