Default Does My Full Bolt-on T/A Have Any Chance Against a Pullied 03 Cobra?

Well, I got called out by a Terminator with Intake, Xpipe, catback and a small pulley (one of the smallest ones you can put on the heaton I believe, like a 2.76). My Mods are in my sig. He wants to do dig races but I get to pick the race. He's on Nitto Dr's and I'm on BFG street tires so I'm not gonna do a dig since he'll murder me. I'm thinking my only chance is like a low roll, maybe 20-25 or something. He is also a very good driver so I can't count on !drivermod.

So do I have any chance? Is there a certain race I should choose to give my LS1 the edge?

Thanks guys!

As it sits you're going to lose unless he misses shifts or something. He probably has over 100 rwhp on you. Your best bet is you buy a set of slicks, go from a dig and hope you don't break your rear. Even if it all goes right he might be able to pass you by the end depending on how long the race is.

This doesn't mean that he WILL win, just that he SHOULD. Good luck if you go run him, I'm sure it'll be fun no matter which way it goes.

My cc503 cam only car was dead even with an 03 Cobra with exhaust and a tune from 20-120. I don't think you have a chance.

Pullied Cobra has around 440-450 rwhp but weighs a couple hundred more pounds. I'm giving the win to him especially as speeds increase.

With a good dyno tune (he may have a crappy email or box tune) he is laying down a good 75 (+/-) more than you and on DR's.......No way man.

Toss on a a little 50 sneaky in there, and you may have a chance.

Your only hope IMO is to go from a dig and hope he blows the tires off.
Don't let his drag radials scare you. It's not easy launching on an unprepped surface
with 450rwtq @ 2,500rpm. Do NOT run him from a 40 or a 50 roll. If you must go
from a roll, do it from about 10mph.

Unless you go from a dig and he spins, you're f*cked.

I have yet to race a Cobra, so this is all speculation, but I have the feeling that LS1tech users are slightly deceived by the Street Racing section into believing that Cobras aren't that big of a deal since more often than not it's a kill story for an LS1 with <50 RWHP than the Cobra.

Im pretty sure most of the users on here respect and know that the 03-04 Cobras are no joke and are fast. With a good Driver a Pullied Cobra > Bolt on Ls1 all day. Most users admit that.

Make up an excuse as to why you can't run him this week and make it to where you run him end of next week. In the mean time find a friend with some DRs that you can borrow (or someone on here close by) and buy you a nitrous kit. Install it (I know you can hide a nitrous kit on a F-body) and between the time you get it and the time you race him learn how to use it on a 75 shot if you never have. Then when you run him spray a 75 shot with your bottle pressure up and run him at whatever mph your car is at 3,500rpms in 1st gear. Atleast this is what I'd do if I were in your shoes.

Most don't know what they are truly capable of with a good driver. They are not easy to launch like a f-body.. My friend has a whippled 03 making 600rwhp and he has yet to learn to really drive the thing. My bolt-on car had its hands full when he was catback only.

They are no joke in the right hands

I've always found Mustangs in general to be very easy to launch.

Ones with the solid seem easy to me, Launched my Ex Mach all the time with no issues.. Have yet to try to launch a IRS car yet, a lot of people say its a lot harder then a SRA..
