Default my ls1 vs. heads cam lt1

a guy in my town is coming back for a military leave and his car has the following----
1994 Formula Firebird A4 2.73 rear. Go fast goodies- comp cams "XFI" , 268/276 .570 .565 lift 113 LSA
Meziere electric wp, Pacesetter LT's w/ORY, Trick Flow 195cc LT1 heads, bullet muffler (hehe), pcmforless tune, 32lb/hr inj. K&N intake, Trick Flow intake elbow MSD EVERYTHING. Now rebuilt into a 355. Still slow though. New upgrades waiting for install- Moser 9" 3.50 gears, some BMR stuff......

and my car has the mods in my sig. how should the race turn out???

I cant imagine why his first upgrade wouldnt be 3.73 gears or something. 2.73 are horrible stock not to mention with a cam. What stall is he running? I think he might take you with his new rear end.

I think he may take you. He should be in the 370-390rwhp range not to mention he will have the traction advantage over you more than likely. And with a 3600 stall will probably take you off of the line. M6s are trickier to launch.

well i was hoping that with that stall, on the street, he would just spin outta the whole and hopefully i would have a good jump and try and hang on to the end.

i raced an lt4 trans am m6 i beat him pretty bad by about 4-5 lengths. i dont know if this makes a difference in how you think the race turns out. this guy also raced a 6.0 gto the same one i did and we both won i heard he beat him by about 4 lengths thats about how i did too.

You may have your hands full if he gets that new 9" installed. Sounds like he is running a pretty decent combo. If he hooks I think he will get you.

I'd put my money on the LT1 based on what you said.

A roll will definately benefit you. What do you run in the 1/4? He should be running low 12's/high 11's with what he has (with his 9" that is).

he doesnt have the new rearend in i dont think. with those gears of his a roll will benefit me??

just curious how will a new rearend make his car faster? i thought the whole point of getting a 12 bolt or a 9" was to prevent it from breaking??

havent had it to the track yet. i figure im in the 12's.

I think they are referring to the gears... I hope at least.

Yeah, I meant with his new gears, they will help him out and with the stronger rearend he'll be able to launch harder and with better tires with less chance of breakin ****.
