When I honk I try to keep the time between the 2nd and 3rd the same as it was for the 1st and 2nd honk. I always hesitate after the third honk as well. But yeah, you are right.

I think the lack of positive response could be due to the fact that most people here probably have little knowledge of the S2000. Everything I ever learned about that car I learned in this thread.

Kinda like guys who run bigs/littles and drag radials on the street like to go from a dig? Half the threads on here I see, "Yeah he hung with you from a roll, but you should go from a dig with your stalled/DR car and show him what's up." There is NOTHING wrong with playing to your car's strengths when you race. And when did I say I'd "refuse the roll he wants?" And I also said I'd go to 120-125mph, so "shut down before he comes around me?" You're a joke. And I'm sorry my 80k+ mile clutch is too worn right now to do a 7,000rpm launch, but I'd like to be able to drive my car after the race. And as far as the answers I'm getting from this board, I kinda expected non-biased responses, but I guess I should have known better.
thats great. youre the one that said stock a4 GTOs run high 13s and i was just letting you know theyre capable of running better.

^^^^^ . IME the s2000 are slow. Everytime i've seen one race its gotten its butt kicked . I don,t care what those magazines say. Either drive one or RACE one thats my sure fire way to know what a car is capable of .
.
Those hondas are very durable but if your clutch is slipping change it You need to make sure all your shifts are quik & firm , Make sure your at a pretty high rpm thats when your car makes the most power. GOOD LUCK MAN YOUR GONNA NEED IT.

I am guessing, by et rating and going by the 13.6 to 14 flat by 101 and you going up to 125, he will have you by about 7 cars in the end considering the ls1 top end pull.

This is pretty . If I were in your position i would just go from a dig and try to beat him off the line reaction/launch He's gonna run you down but its better then trying to be sneaky.

Trying to be sneaky? I was just asking where a good spot to start would be. There is nothing really "sneaky" about that. And I talked to him today and we're gonna do a 25mph roll (yay ) and then a 45mph roll. Obviously the 25mph roll was his choice.

Did anyone bother to crunch the power to weight ratio numbers?

2003 S2000 - 2809lbs / 240hp = 11.70
2004 GTO - 3725lbs / 350hp = 10.64

Close but the GTO will win. S2000 will need around 270hp to beat a stock LS1 GTSlow

No way do I believe a stock LS1 GTO ran a 13 flat OR trapped 108mph. LS2s run/trap that sometimes.

Probably lives under the sea

LS1 GTO's don't run that great in stock form, they are just too heavy and not enough power. I think you'll be able to keep up till about 80 maybe, then he'll start walking away. I could be wrong though, see if you can get a video.
