My friend got a stock heads, stock cam, stock intake, stock tb, stock clutch fan, stock 3.08 geared 87 GT to run 8.42@82.xx in the 1/8 with WAYYYY too much tire under it. Not much for a bolton LS1 from a roll (he did kill a stock auto Z28 from a second gear roll back in the day, 3.08's dumdumdum!), but from a dig, you better have your a game. There is another buddy of mine who has went mid 7's in a GT with alot of weight reduction, aerospace brakes, home made ram air setup and alot of trial and error with a stock motor. Car probably wouldnt 60ft on the street like it does at the track though, with him leaving off of the limiter lol. That car now runs 6.9@98 in the 1/8 with a very mild hci combo and 4.56's. Stock 200k mile bottom end.
The car you mention in question, could run half *** decent, might not, the f cam sucks, some cars run decent with it but the mentality behind MOST Mustang guys who pick out combos like that = slow as ****. I have seen a Notch with Edelbrock Heads, F Cam, some intake manifold, average stuff run 7.7's at 85 or so in the 1/8. I DESTROYED that sob from a 40 roll in my heads and cam LT1 but he ran 3 tenths faster at the track.
If your friend spins, he is done for. From a roll, he has a chance of holding you off, if he knows whats a good speed for his setup and doesnt have toooo much gear. That car could make 270, it could make 295, probably not good for more than that. You have an auto car with 2.73's, if you had an m6, I would say you would win for sure, it's kind of a toss up right now.
My friend had a notch (that I later owned twice) with Trickflows, F Cam, Trickflow Street Heat Intake, 3.55's, Longtubes, etc, car was slower than Christmas and my friend shifts slower than ****, he managed to hold off another friend's auto Z28 with headers and stuff from a second gear roll to 130 and that was one of the weaker hci setup foxes I have seen.
