Default Set up for a showdown.....

It seems like because i have a sleek beak (non ws6) TA everyone feels that i am the one to call out. Over the past few days i've been called out by an 08 GT with CAI, a Trailblazer SS with CAI, Tune, AWD and lastly the an Evo VIII with blow off valve, catback, 4 channel boost control with up to 20lbs of boost on a stock block????? Gonna run them in order listed, this will only be my 3rd race and i know i need the driver mod. Other than the EVO do you think these races will be a problem? suggestions???

Wrong section, there is a bench racing section https://ls1tech.com/forums/dyno-guesses-bench-racing-forum-150/

Now, 08 GT i assume you mean mustang GT, they are slow stock, should be an easy race. Not sure on the Trailblazer SS. The evo should not be much of a race, with the stock turbo they are not that quick. The AWD cars will have an advantage from a dig, so just try to launch too hard and you should be fine.

I'm pretty sure the Evos peak at 19 lbs stock. The OP said the Evo he plans on racing goes up to 20 lbs.

He has 1 more PSI than stock, a catback, and a blow off valve. Based on what I've read here, the blow off valve does nothing on a near stock car and you need turboback exhaust to really reap the benefits. What makes you think he's exaggerating or holding info?

The kid just seemed a little to eager to get on it with the evo. He saw a vid of an eclispe getting outta the hole by about 2 cars on me and i reeled him in. I assume he's planning on the awd launch and holding me off in the qtr. The Gt is a stang and pretty much stock.

BlkZ28559 Why would you say a shift kit is a waste on a stock a4? And 4.10's on a non a4 cammed/head ls1 would throw me outta my powerband. gimme more info on the shify kit being a waste, you are the 1st i've heard say this.

awd is only good for like the first hundred feet. then it actually hurts you in a race.

The STi runs 14 lbs stock.

STi:
"It makes a satisfyingly round 300 horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque via 14.5 psi of boost." "Carving It Up", Automobile magazine, June 2003

Evo:
"The turbocharger feeds the engine with as much as 19.0 pounds per square inch of pressurized air, and a twin-scroll housing maintains high gas velocity for better throttle response in the face of that very large capacity turbo." Same article, same magazine.

08 GT-Slow. Highway gears, heavier than older mustangs.

TBSS-Decent amount of horsepower, but heavy. I have seen an 03 gt take one of these down. Unless modded they aren't a threat.

Evo-This is the only race I would worry about. If the kid is telling you he's pushing 20psi on a stock engine he's full of **** and most likely has nothing. If you race from a dig he's going to pull on you given awd. From a roll he's going to be in boost which means he's more likely to pull on you, even with the ls1's great top-end. You're going to have to pull something out of your *** on this one.

Its your call on the gears, research this site. I believe theres a thread here in the Kill section "The difference gears make" Hey seeing is beleving. Throwing you out of your power band bcuz 4.10 of gears?? You are the first I've seen that has this mod in there sig, My cuzin had one of those installed on his silverado it made no difference. Maybe different for these cars but i don't venture into the auto transmission threads.

The GT should be a good race from a stop if he can drive, given he has the 3.55 gears. If he has 3.31s it will be more in the OP's favor. I'm not sure what you're talking about with the "highway gears" comment. The EVO will also be good from a dig if he can drive. From a roll you should win all of the races.

Sounds like YOU need to research this site. The op knows what he's talking about.
