I have an ls1 z with bolt-ons and soon to have 3.73s and a circle d 3600 stall. The rousch is stock. The mustang belongs to this guy I knows dad. He pulled up on me the other day in his gp gxp, that I have already raced and beaten by a good bit when I was just catback and lid, and tells me that he did a diablo tune and wants to run again when it warms up. I told him that was cool, but by then I will have my stall and gears and there wouldn't be a whole lot of point. Oh yeah, I will have some drs as well. He says okay that's fine, you wanna race the mustang? I smiled and said sure why not. This guy starts laughing at me and asks me if I am sure I want to do that. "Don't you know that mustang will outrun a 500hp zo6?" were his exact words to me. I just smiled again and said no it won't and when it warms up, I am going to prove it.

I was just wondering what you guys think might happen. From what I have read, the stage 3s run a 13.0 stock. Probably a mid 12 with a good driver and traction on a good day. The mustang is a 5 speed.

Yes, that stg 3 is virtually a high 12 sec car. Even without your other bolt ons, your stall and DR's would be enough (most likely). He weighs more and probably puts down MAYBE 360rwhp.

Roush's are killer in the turns though....good thing he's not a road racer. He'd hand you your *** in one of those races.

No problem, I agree about takin them off the streets. What's funny is that it isnt even his car. Oh well, I can't wait to get him to do it.

just raced one last night. slow pos. it was a 3 way race.
ME (m6, cam, exhaust only) VS buddy ls1 z28 (exhaust, bolt ons, tune, auto) VS year? Stage 3 rousch (mods?)

i toasted both of them but the camaro beat him pretty bad, even from a roll.

What body style?..and you sure it was a stg 3? Not doubting it.....just clarifying so OP knows.

yeah it was the really new one. like 09 or something like that. had the blower and everything else i assume for stage 3. my friend saw the sticker at the dealership a while ago before it was bought and stated "stage 3" so i came to the conclusion it was in fact, stage 3.

Yeah, I figured the bolt-ons and a tune would get me real close. The stall and gears are gonna make that guys feelings hurt though.
