yea well everyone says get 373s since ur auto i even know a guy who hais a stock z28 auto with 410s and barely was able 2 pull on him up top but hee said he wished he had 373s but i think i would be happier with 410s since the car will basically turn in 2 a weekend warrior and be parked the rest of the week

Yea those 273's are killing you, that being said i still think you'll beat him easy. Bolt on 2V cars can barely run low 13's(and only dyno around 260-70 rwhp). Plus his 373's are a mild gear for a modular. Most run atleast 410's. Only thing the pi is it brings the older 2v performance up to the 99-04's. Which is still nothing to brag about.

Stick w/ the 373's..IMO 410 is too much gear for an auto.

Just too much gear, gets through the gears too quick and you'll loose top end...373 is all the gear you'll need. It will be plenty aggresive w/ the right stall and some drag radials. What stall is it? I wouldnt worry about the GT you have atleast 50 hp on him and like I said 373 isnt nearly enough gear for a mod motor..baby it outta the hole and just stab and point you'll run right past him. Hes probably not putting down anywhere near what your car would stock.

If he has full bolt-ons (LTs included), that's around 280rwhp... with the heads ported, it could be more. And then 3.73s. So he should be running low 13s, but then again so should you. The stall is gonna help you out.

he has shorty headers and he sais he runs 13.1 on an average and even got a 12.9 with his best run witch i have a hard time believing

Shorties do jack for modulars. He 'could' run 13.1......but it would take WR and DR's.

He's probably a 26-270 RWHP car at about 32-3300 pounds.

I wouldn't put money on either of you, that's for sure.

Well my old Mustang had just about every bolt-on, except it had shorties. The car that dynoed right after me, with near the exact same setup save LTs, put down 280rwhp/312rwtq. And those are untuned numbers. So figure another couple hp for the NPI shortblock, and the possibility that it's tuned. I wouldn't be surprised if he was putting down 270-275rwhp. Might be high, but it's possible.

Agreed, shorties are a waste of the install time and the price of the part on mod motors. He would be lucky to see a mid 13. Dont blow your launch at its a cakewalk.
