I would never put an engine in my DD car that is older than the car itself (if you mean put an LT1 into this)! For the amount of money I'd spend, I might as well find an F-body that came with an LS1. Nowhere did I say my V6 was "fast sheeeeit", in fact if you knew me in real life you'd probably get tired of me making V6 comments. Insurance and road trip MPG (400~ mile per tank on 87 octane) is awesome with the V6...

What happens when I go to smog it? $250 for a smog check? No thanks.
What happens if I get hit and insurance notices the big ol' V8 under the hood?
What happens to my MPG on roadtrips with a nifty A4 and 3.42+s?

These are all rheotorical questions. Please don't answer. :p

Spray it with a 75 shot until it blows then put a LS1 in it. It will get you into the 13's in the mean time....

So this is the third time I'ved typed up a reply but this computer sucks. Each reply I had was worded differently but they all mean the same thing.

I can't afford the expenses that go with a V8 conversion/car purchase right now, from parents hating me (they think insurance will be $1500/mo full coverage cause I have 2 points from a speeding ticket in '07... ), to insurance finding out if I get in a wreck (conversion), to more possible car downtime (I work M-F and don't even have enough time for one f-body as it is), to getting more tickets (the guys I hang with are cop magnets), not having parking space (if I get another car), buying more upgrades, spending more money on gas (91vs87+mpg), smog "checks" ($250), and tires ().

With the economy the way it is, my parents may not be making enough to live where we do (nice, but expensive area). I may end up paying the rent/utilities for them instead of moving again - which means I'll have zero money left for entertainment.

Got some track times, what would my 1/4 be?? The same as before?

EDIT: NM, found a calculator. Low 15s.

Best time:
R/T: .584
60': 1.944
330: 6.242
1/8: 9.731
MPH: 70.83

Best MPH:
R/T: 1.010
60': 2.15
330: 6.314
1/8: 9.75
MPH: 71.81

This was on near-bald 275/40/17 Firestone Firehawk SZ01 tires that were bald at the outer edges due to umenven wear. 32ish PSI.

P.S. Good thing I didn't buy a TA. I got laid off due to the economy and now I might have to be moving out to BFE to stay alive if I can't find another job fast.

Good runs. Those right there are high 14/low 15s passes. Trapspeed would probably be 90-92mph. You should look up the DA of the track for that night and see what your corrected times would be. For reference my old Integra was running consistent 9.70-9.75s @ 73-74mph, and I ran a best of 14.97 @ 93.82mph in the 1/4. Highest trap was 93.98mph. Consistent 15.0-15.2s @ 92-93mph.

Great, when my engine/trans go I'll rebuild them and throw on a few goodies if I have the extra cash. Also going to throw on some stock Camaro 5 spokes with Nitto DRs. Should lower the time a bit and make my car feel a lot faster. How would I find out the DA of a track??

I'm sure I could do better than that providing track conditions are good and I can hook... We shall see. There's a track day this weekend at the local 1/4 mile track that I'll try to make (Fontana... slower numbers). Mid to high 15s at around 85-87 is what my car should do stock... All day...

Hope my trans lasts longer than my tires!
