yea they are very nice i would not mind having one, i used to have a 5-speed VR6 2.8L GTI and it was a torquey little bastard, i pulled on stripped hatches down Bell road all the time in that car.

they now have a VR6 thats a 3.6L thats in the new passats, but because of the larger CU it wont git in the Golf body

and i know of a couple guys with super charged R32's and they are BA no joke, the AWD system is the same as Audi's Quatro too so you know its pretty decent.

Man, I love the Audi's AWD....I test drove the **** out of a 12 psi boosted s4...5k rpm dumps, spinning all 4 tires. **** was BA. How are the 2.8 vr6 motors? I still want a vw for a daily....just can't decide on 2.0T or vr6 motor. Man, I can't wait to move to Phoenix...I need some races.

well personally i beat a few 1.8T's in my 96 VR6, but then again those new 2.0T's with the direct inject are pretty nasty!

The vr6 is a torquey motor for such a small V6, but i also had the 12v the newer ones are 24V and have more top end.

If it were me, I'd most likely go with the VR6 just because if you boost that it will blow the 4 cylinder out of the water.

2.0T>1.8T>VR6 as far as modding goes. Stock its 2.0T>VR6>1.8T but stock blows

i raced one at the track with my 99 v6 firebird.....

killed him out of the hole by about 3 lengths.. he made those up by the end of the 1/8 and i had him by about 1 - 1 1/2.. he trapped 1 1/2 mph faster..

i was bone stock full weight.. he had like an intake and exhaust..

A stock GTi no matter 2.0T VR6 whatever is not trapping 93-94 which is 1-2 mph higher than a stock V6 F-Body. He probably had the intake and exhaust as well as a boost controller.

LOL when I originally posted I didn't see where you said he had an intake and exhaust....that will put him low 15's if he can drive but not 93-94mph. He was running a little more boost or something else you couldn't see
