does anyone know or have ever heard of a bone stock ls1 car with an auto that has a stall, stock rearend full exhaust and longtubes with a Lid only....thats all the mods it with a tune......and yes ONLY a 100 shot.....
can this car clip 10.6x, what are your opinions and thoughts on this...is it possible or just another liar on the road

Not a chance in hell you'll even get close to the 10's unless it's completely gutted with slicks and a stall converter...and I still doubt you'd crack 10's.

buddy had a a 2001 auto, no stall but did have long tubes with a loud mouth and a 200 shot on a stock bottom end and went 11.45 at 120

When my car was bolt-ons only, 100 dry shot, and Yank 3600 stall went a best of 11.34 @ 120. Stock 10 bolt with 3.23 gears and 17in BFG DRs. Car weighs 3650lbs.


I could possibly see breaking into the 10s with a lot of weight reduction but it wouldn't be a 10.6.

The car in question has a lid and full exhaust only though, not a converter
or any other bolt ons.

I went 11.60's with a lid, catback, free mods, and a 150 shot at around
3,650lbs and 2500' DA. My old car would probably be around the same
power level as the car in question. Gut it and throw a tire out back and
I can see some bottom 11's, but I just don't see a 10 happening even
in good weather.

10.5's? Not a chance in hell. He'd need to be trapping in the 130mph range, maybe a little less if it was gutted. Either way, it's not happening with those
mods.

People run mid 10's all the time on the stock 10 bolt. They don't last too long,
but they can live enough to run the number.

I know of several cars in the 10s with the stock 10bolt including myself. One of them goes 10.30s. How long it lasts, who knows.
