How fast do you think this truck is?
Hey everyone, lets say a 2007 gmc sierra vortec max 6.0 4x4 crew cab with intake, long tube headers, no cats and a dyno tune.... how quick would it be in the 1/4 mile? what do you think? What do they run stock? Would a cam give alot more gain? If so, how quick then? thanks!

That's a lot of weight to get moving. I would say it would be slower than a TBSS mod for mod. A TBSS with those mods would crack 13's easy, a cam would put it low 13's/high 12's so the truck would still be behind.
Your 12.92 is safe if you were thinking about lining it up with him, lol. Unless he sprays.

nothing wrong with wanting power. why do people hop up diesel trucks? cause its fun and it makes them faster, plus they pull better, you can beat up on imports, have some fun at the dragstrip, beat hemi trucks, show that tundra driver up.... etc...

HUGGGGGGEEEEEEE difference between a diesel and that.
I would just save the money for a serious build to make it badass if you're into quick trucks, instead of onsie twosies......diffrerence of opinion.

If that truck can run mid -low 15's stock... theres not much difference. It would probably be faster than most dmax's... it might not be up to par in torque and pulling power... but, with a cam and headers it would be quite a bit faster in the 1/4 than most Dmax's with a $600 dollar programmer and exhaust.

Well, its not goin to be just a street truck. I want to level the truck in the front and put some 285's on it with some nice wheels. I wanna put a bumper on it also, and it will see a little bit of off-roading. Im just curious how strong it will be when I line up with a douche bag in a rice rocket next to me. haha

op's not asking your opinion if he should build it, he's asking how it'll run. he wants a truck with a little extra kick, nothing wrong with that.
op, you might have better luck on the truck forums, at least they won't whine about "why mod a truck?"

Dont you mean how slow will it be? You would be lucky to break into the 14's with said mods. Thats a alot of weight to get moving...

^^^^ true, like i said i had a 2000 silverado ecsb with the 5.3 and procharger, cam, stall, full exhaust and couldnt keep up with me stock TBSS which runs low 13's. i see that truck stuggling to get into high 14's most likely 15's
