i also think if he is spinning to a higher rpm and is modded decently, i doubt he would be running stock gears, most likely some 3.73's or 4.10's if its 6 speed.

You might have already covered this but someone said that 6th gear will get you a higher speed than 5th. I am sorry but it won't the factory top speed of 163 is in 5th gear top speed in 6th is only 135 or so. Sixth is such a big OD gear that if you were to shift into 6th in a stock geared car at 160 I would think it would spell disaster for the car. I might be wrong but to chicken to try and find out.

This has come a very interesting topic.. i was really hoping to find him on here to ask what he had under the hood.. i'm sure what caused the flame.. but also i'm not sure exactly how fast they were going i know from racing it was over 150+ because i slowed down to 50 and they passed me if i were stopped and they were doing 100-110 or so if that makes sense. It was truely a bad *** race i haven't found anything on youtube. man just the thought of i could be able to do that in the 7 keeps me up at night lol

The shifting to 6th thing depends on how much power hes making. Stock yeah its going to fall on its face. 600 hp is a different story especially if he had a set of 4.10s in it.

I shifted my then basically stock Camaro into 6th at exactly 153 MPH and the car just slowed down, definitely not disasterous but definitely not helpful. 6th would hold 135 - 140 anything faster required 5th gear.

Stationed in Germany for two years had plenty of time to find out on the Autobahn.
