03 cobra
ok well the local mustang guy well kid just bought an 03 twin turbo cobra......
we says his block is a 4.6 stroked to a 5.0 lol.... they are 61mm turbos....
anywho he says that on low boost (stage 1 ) he makes 800 rwhp
on stage 3 he makes 1200 hp...also he hits 100 in secound ....all i seen was a boost controller not a step kind of progressive stage boost control
he has stock driveterrain....and he runs 9's?
is this dude fulll of it...and does stoking change the litter im not sure ....

See ya in the bench racing section....
Low boost (means like under 10 to me) and 800rwhp even on a "5.0" is where I would've stopped believing him.
those drive terrain's can be nasty. All plateau's and mountains and rivers and ****....

There's no way he's making 1200RWHP, but 800RWHP is definitely attainable with those turbos (which is plenty of power to run 9's). When stroked, our motors go from a 4.6L to a 5.0L. Drivetrain wise, there's only a few mods needed, with the major mods being a clutch/flywheel, and input shaft at those power levels.
Sounds like he is half BSing you, half telling the truth.

What's so unbelievable about 800RWHP on a 5.0L? Guys with the stock 4.6L have made over 800RWHP with smaller turbos than this guy's supposed 61's. 110% believable, and not too uncommon on a turbo set up.
Not trying to stir the pot, just adding to the discussion before this thread is moved.

Very possible...not sure why you would "lol" about that.
Yep, makes sense.
Very possible.
Maybe flywheel horsepower, most likely not rwhp.
No chance. Outlaw 10.5 guys don't even do that and they run 6's.
Both are very possible.
Sounds to me like this guy has a badass ride and that you're possibly misunderstanding what he's saying.

1200RWHP is probably not possible with twin 61's on a 5.0L engine..... the 800rwhp is definitely beileveable...
He must have some darn tall gears in his car then... I know the t56 ratio is different in the cobras than a ls1, but with 3:08's my second gear topped out a 95... so unless the cobra has a taller tranny gears, he must have some darn tall gears in the rear to get there

Agree'd does sound like a BA ride, but at the same time, maybe dude who bought the car doesn't know exactly what he is talking about either. Just cause you can buy a nice *** fast ride doesnt mean you know everything you are talking about concerning the car. but hard to tell. . . race him and see what happens

I purchased this car 3 years ago with the intent of modding it out which I have done, however I now lack the time or the interest of keeping the car. All of the work was done by HPP out of Lewisville, TX (http://hppmotorsports.com/) The new motor has around 250 miles on it so it is hardly broken in. This car has the ability of high boost 20#'s plus. I have not pushed the boost up past 17#'s because I wanted to break the motor in a little before I did and also have the car re-dynoed, but like I mentioned before I haven't done so. The car sits in the garage and is started every once in a while and driven around the block.
