Default 05' Stang V6 v.s. 96 Camaro V6

I was just wondering who would win this battle of the 6 cylinders, My friend that I ride with daily has a 96 V6 Camaro with magnaflow exhaust and its going to run a car my lil bro's friend has got that is a 2005 Stang V6 with Magnaflow exhaust and some kind of a chip. Both are auto's just wondering what u guys think? I really have know idea what the newer V6 stangs have/or are capable of i thought they were pretty slow.

I think it'll be really close, but considering traction and drivermod shouldn't be an issue with the autos, I'm going with the stang on this one. I think they're rated at 210 crank HP? and it's a bit lighter? (maybe not more so than a 96, but I know it is a 98). I think it's just going to be reaction honestly, but the stang will have a super small advantage

i dont think it will be close at all, last i heard the v6 camaro's with auto's were up around 8 seconds 0-60, and 05+ v6 stangs were in the mid 6's. i dont know where it will go from there but i think the stang will get him off the line pretty bad. and the 05+ get 5-speed auto's dont they, that might also send the advantage to the stang

I had an '08 V6 Mustang. Ran 14.9 at 93 all day long and have never had a V6 Fbody come anywhere near me. he will win this one unless he blows up.
Rated 210HP and 240lb-ft but ran harder than that.

Mustang would rape it.. I have a 95 V6 and since I work at a body shop, I had to drive a new mustang to the alignment shop, and I was very impressed. Had alot of torque. My Camaro felt so sluggish compared to this car.

Mustang hands down.

I thought the 05 stangs had a different engine than the 08's. I know the body style changed then, but I thought the engine was different? I guess I'm wrong.

If it's the same engine as the new one, forget it. You're gonna get raped.

they actually started the 3.8L V6's but still he will be down TQ wise to the mustang.

and for the record the 3800 has 210hp and 220tq, i think the gearing and tranny are what really hold the 3800 back.

05 = 08. The '08 might be a little heavier due to options. Same body style, same engine. The '04 V6 had a slightly larger motor (3.9 vs 3.8) than the 99-'03 cars however, all have the same body style.

If you ran a '96 V6 Camaro and trapped 95mph, it wasn't stock. They trap 88-90mph stock. So if you are going to lie and CLAIM to be stock, I'm going to have to stab you with the flag. And for the record, '05+ V6 Mustangs run high 14s all the time.

ah so it's the 04's that were different. Thanks for the correction.
