05' Stang V6 v.s. 96 Camaro V6
I was just wondering who would win this battle of the 6 cylinders, My friend that I ride with daily has a 96 V6 Camaro with magnaflow exhaust and its going to run a car my lil bro's friend has got that is a 2005 Stang V6 with Magnaflow exhaust and some kind of a chip. Both are auto's just wondering what u guys think? I really have know idea what the newer V6 stangs have/or are capable of i thought they were pretty slow.

I think it'll be really close, but considering traction and drivermod shouldn't be an issue with the autos, I'm going with the stang on this one. I think they're rated at 210 crank HP? and it's a bit lighter? (maybe not more so than a 96, but I know it is a 98). I think it's just going to be reaction honestly, but the stang will have a super small advantage

i dont think it will be close at all, last i heard the v6 camaro's with auto's were up around 8 seconds 0-60, and 05+ v6 stangs were in the mid 6's. i dont know where it will go from there but i think the stang will get him off the line pretty bad. and the 05+ get 5-speed auto's dont they, that might also send the advantage to the stang

I had an '08 V6 Mustang. Ran 14.9 at 93 all day long and have never had a V6 Fbody come anywhere near me. he will win this one unless he blows up.
Rated 210HP and 240lb-ft but ran harder than that.

I thought the 05 stangs had a different engine than the 08's. I know the body style changed then, but I thought the engine was different? I guess I'm wrong.
If it's the same engine as the new one, forget it. You're gonna get raped.

05 = 08. The '08 might be a little heavier due to options. Same body style, same engine. The '04 V6 had a slightly larger motor (3.9 vs 3.8) than the 99-'03 cars however, all have the same body style.

If you ran a '96 V6 Camaro and trapped 95mph, it wasn't stock. They trap 88-90mph stock. So if you are going to lie and CLAIM to be stock, I'm going to have to stab you with the flag. And for the record, '05+ V6 Mustangs run high 14s all the time.
