Quick question. I have an old cut out laying around. Would i see any gains having the cutout welded into a bone stock exhaust system?

are you positive that the lt1 dont have a stall. cause that a big cam for not having a stall. plus not being tunned. i would think itwould have a hard time idiling in gear. but that just my 2 cents. but my vote for the lt1. lol

Yes, I am positive it doesnt have a stall. And it does have trouble idling in gear (acts like its going to die). I am not exact on the cam lift, but im pretty sure im in the right ballpark. Yea i have a stock catback with a flowmaster welded in . Cant wait till i put on Longtubes and borla that i have in the garage waiting to be installed

Well the results are in...not very happy at all haha. Actually almost embarassing, I have some issues to work out.
His time: 13.31 @ 102.97 with a 2.01 60 ft.
My time: 13.85 @ 98.23 (wtf) with a 2.16 60 ft.
We were about dead even at half track, and then he slowly pulled away to about a car length at the finish.

When i got parked i used my diablo predator to read the engine codes for the check engine light. I had a list of about 6 of them. I knew a few would be for !AIR and !EGR, but codes P 0137, and P 0157 which is Low 02 sensor voltage, banks 1 and 2 appeared. Im not exactly sure what these are, ill have to look into them.

Anyway, those were the crappy results haha

Well, turns out you shouldnt put a cutout on a bone stock exhaust lol. I capped it back up and the engine codes went away (low 02 voltage). I guess cutout caused it to run lean, but i didnt notice right away because it sounded quicker. Capped it back up and gained some torque back. Maybe thats why i had such a low MPH.

Not sure what altitude you guys are at but those are horrible times.Decent 60fts though for street tires. So not even nittos?
His especially.
Buddy with just mac headers on his 94z and rockers ,3.23 gears, cold air ,underdrive no cam or heads can get like 104 and does 13.4 with 2.0 60fts on et street radials. Can't seem to get better 60ft with his gears and stall or maybe its lack of power. Still with cam and heads and headers you buddy should be getting like 110/112 mph . He for sure has issues..tuning or igntion or fuel or something. His car should easily waste yours even with the 2.73 and should wast it by like an easy 5 or more carlengths..fact his time diff is about 5 carlengths not 1 as youi said. Its a carlength for every tenth.

Our local track is 1600 feet for comparison. A good heads /cam/headers bolt on auto lt1 should be able to do around 360rwhp maybe 380rwhp.. or around 450 engine.Your car might have 290 to mabye 300rwhp tops.

I still find it funny how people think the LT1 is like a toy. LS1 is a great engine, but never underestimate a LT1.

I totally forgot about this thread lol. But yea now that i think about it, he should have beat me anyway. My car still has catalytic converters on it haha. And the cutout I put on did not cause those codes. I think it has two bad o2 sensors on it. I am going to do some spring cleaning...plugs, fuel filter, 02's, headers, catback, y pipe etc etc and then have a custom diablo tune loaded in and see how she does.

And now that i think about it, someone told me all SS's came with 3:23's? Maybe his car had those gears also but he "thinks" there 2:73's
