MY MACH 1 Vs LT1

I've heard that Mach 1's run door to door with LS1's. But full bolt-on LT1's usually walk them.
And my definition of full bolt-on LT1 (or what I believe it should be) is:
-CAI
-52-58mm TB
-LT's
-ORY
-cut out
-1.6/1.7 rr's w/ LT4 springs or better
-EWP
-free mods
-gears
-stall (if auto)
-suspension mods
-some weight reduction
That should work a Mach 1 no problem.

Just spoke to a local Performance/Dyno shop. The average Mach 1 they have dynoed put down roughly 283-290 rwh through a manual. Maybe he has a factory freak...doubt it though. When I was just CAI/catback/mid tubes and a few free mods I walked a couple by at least 2 cars from the dig and roll.

my friends with a stock 95 6spd firehawk and a stock 03 mach 1 auto raced and after about 4 runs the mach 1 had about a car length at about 85-90 mph every time. i raced the same mach 1 with my then completely showroom stock 02 ss 6spd on the same street about a week later and put about a car length on him up to the same 85-90 mph speed 3 times we have all messed around on the freeway since then and the mach 1 just cant keep up with me or the firehawk after about 100 mph

For starters your Mach 1 can't be putting anywhere near 300rwh/325rwt being it's stock and they are rated 305 hp 320 tq "MOTOR" from the factory. So either post up a dyno chart and make me eat my words or lay off the pipe. With minor bolt on's my car used to spank them all day.
So anyone that has a Ford sitting in their garage is a idiot? Guess I should sell the 69 Boss 302 then huh? I mean it's only worth 65-85k and was one of Fords most sought out Muscle cars.

Also didn't Ford change hp ratings in 94 to rear wheels instead of motor? I must be wrong!

my lt1 is not even a full bolt on and it runs 12'6s all day long. i've run to mach 1's in the past and beat both of them. that was before my stall and rr's. they had cai and cat back.

That is a sweet Boss man. My cuz has a 70 Boss 302, same color. He also had a Boss 429 but he sold it a few years back for like 6 digits. Looks like the shaker hood is on backwards?

It's not going anywhere...with 27k and still smelling like it does inside after leaving the factory it's going to the grave There's actually a set of Mickey Thompson LT headers sitting in the garage for it..not too many folks realize MT made LT's before he passed away.
Don't blame you man, I think the same on my TA. There was an orange Boss 302 running around my neck of the woods with like 30k on it. And let me tell ya the guy drove it like he stole it too.

I have never bought a car for it's resale value. I think that's a horrible way to buy a car. There should be many other characteristics of a car that determine whether or not you want it or not. If you like it enough, you'll keep it forever, that being said, I understand why Elliot still has the Boss. But I'd rather have a car that I want now, and would drive regularly, instead of being coped up in the garage. That's just me.
