Default 2000 SLP Firehawk - Bolt-ons only Trap 114?

Ok guys, again i need a little assistance from the guys more familiar with LS1's, but my buddy in his 2000 SLP Firehawk M6, bolt-on's only, said he ran a 13.34 @ 114 with a 2.6 60'.

He is a terrible driver and short shifts the gears everytime ive been in his car, usually shifting around 5500rpms.

Now is him trapping 114 even near realistic?

I didnt think that was possible in a bolt on LS1 especially in AZ being the DA was like 2000 or over the night he 'supposedly' ran that.

All i remember was 99_z28 being bolt-on and cammed and only running 112, granted he is an auto with mid length headers.

So what you guys think my buddies full of **** huh? no way he hit 114 with bolt-ons only. . . or is there!?

I would ask to see the time slips from that.. Idk 114 is a little high for just boltons. I trap around 107-109 with headers back boltons untunned. If he was a good driver and he had a good tune, probably making around 350ish rwhp then I would say its possible but idk thats pretty high.

he did say he dyno'd 365rwhp the other day and i had posted a thread about that too. but all he has is full exhaust really, and whatever other SLP options come on the car, im just unsure of what SLP usually puts on its LS1 cars. . .

plus i said he short shifts at like 5500rpms

This guy doesnt have a fast 92/92 or 85MM maf unless any of that comes with the SLP package standard.

He only has long tubes and LM cat back. That he personally added to the car.

Ben...short shifting like that here in AZ will not get him 114. Maybe the beams were off or something. Or its cuz SW is kinda known for being fast lol. But 114 can happen, but is not the norm, especially out here man. East cost, full bolt ons, I could see that. Him sucking at driving...no, sorry.

Ben, he has a ls6 mani doesn't he?

i dont think he does honestly, its a 2000 so it wouldnt come with the LS6 intake stock, and i dont think SLP add's that to their cars. and i totally agree, 114 in 2000+ DA and short shifting doesnt add up. He is full of **** then for sure.

thanks guys haha.

Yea i think he is full of ****.

Or he let a friend of his drive the car who has a couple Built stroked LS1's. Dude can drive for real, and if he was powershifting then im thinking maybe his car [not him] could pull off close to that.

Def not with him behind the wheel thou haha.

Just cuz the car can doesn't mean **** lol. THAT fool needs to run that time to back it up. If he says HE ran it...thats bs, and someone needs to ruin that kid. That car is capable, maybe, but still. He can't claim times HE didn't run, regardless if it was the same car.

Smile

114 is a little high but if you look around it is always proven that 6 speeds trap a little higher than autos so i wouldn't really compare it to an auto with the same mods i would look for someone with a manual and see how close it is

Indeed...but 114 for 2k+ DA w/o full bolt ons is BS to me. Cars are slow out here. I'll be up in Phoenix in the summer...I'll get some runs in with 3-4k DA lol.

Yea i agree, i've crushed him at the track before when i ran a 13.385 he was only running a 13.5.

Now that ive hit a 12.9 he is pissed that i was the first of our close friends to hit a 12.

the one i was referring to in my very first post was a cammed auto, which is not equal, and he still only trapped 112.

Haha you got it man, the DA's over the summer only get worse, those 2k DA's are in the winter and spring. Summer = 3k + DA's and changes how cars run all together haha

He only started modding it when i beat him at the track, all before that it was my car will kill your car blah blah and it looks 10x nicer.
