H/C LT1 vs. Harley....
So I have a friend that has a harley and he claims his bike will beat me no doubt due to the power to weight ratio..... I've always been under the impression harley's are slow...I raced one in my old 01 gt and beat one.... soooo I figured this car would easily spank one. But maybe I am wrong? I don't know much about this bike...it's a harley davidson dyna or something i think.. Any ideas? My car put down right at 400rwhp..the setup is supposed to run 12 flat on clean run but i havn't been to track yet. (Lloyd Elliott heads/cam/supporting mods)

I don't know about all Harley's but most can't even hit 12's 95-100traps. I believe the V-rod was the fastest ever and trapped like 110ish. So I doubt he will win. I laugh because all 1200+cc cruisers think their **** is so fast and always want to race my 600, I have yet to be beat and it is 100% stock.

They can get off the line and do the 1/8mile OK but even then there mph is starting to slow down compared to cars running the same time through the 1/8. At least that's what I remember seeing at the local track.

Yeah but you have a stock LT1 which is like a late 13 early 14 sec. car, the OP has a heads/cam LT1 thats supposed to run 12.0's. My dad has a Mean Streak 1600 with pipes, k&n etc. a late 12 second bike so yes cruisers can be pretty quick but without serious internal work they wont hang with a high 11/low 12 second car.

if it is modded internally, it could be a contender, harley's can be made fast, but there are very few around. hell procharger even has a kit for them... then there is n2o kits
most likely though you wil take him, he will probably take the launch though

People are always disbelievers. "a car cant beat a bike" "a sports car cant beat a exotic" blah blah blah. Harleys ARE slow and i'm sure your car will win in a race unless your clutch goes out. A friend tried to argue with me his gsx-r 600 would beat my car in a race.. He owes me $50

very very much so...at least the majority of them, they're just loud and have that "racking" sound and many people that drive them feel the need to rev every ******* chance they get
I don't doubt that they COULD sound good, kinda like a ls1 car with a loudmouth or straight pipes COULD sound good...but it would require a trip to the muffler shop and installation of new product
they rate right up there with fartpipe hondas on the annoying exhaust scale
