what is faster cobra stock or saleen stock. years lets say before thay changed to the last body style.

that really depends on what year cobra and saleen. like say if there both 03-04's then there both supercharged. but if there earlier than that for cobra there not least not stock...

If you are talking 96-04, the cobra is the quicker/faster car stock for stock W/O a doubt. (n/a vs. n/a 96-01) In fact, the 99/01 Cobra's are on the heels of the S281SCs of hte same year. 2V with 5psi and conservative tune, doesnt' amount to too much. Especially given the weight addition.

^^ did not know that. humm good to know. oh talkin to the guys at ford strokers. looks like they will have the kit for the best price. tryin to keep it 9.5-10.1:1.

I wouldn't go with a CObra short block though. Since you only have a P1SC (even if a D1SC) you'll lose a lot of low end power from only having 8.5:1 CR. If you get it, a rebuild maybe the best thing anyway, so I'd start from scratch and do as Stop suggests.....go with ~10-10.3:1 with a centrif. I wouldn't go any lower than 9.85:1. ALOT of power would be left on the table if you did. Even if you had to pull a tad bit of timing pending your local pump gas octane, you'd still end up with more power than going with a 8.5:1 setup.

just my two cents.
i would go with 9.30-9.50 :1 compression with an f1a pulley that **** to the moon and run a waste gate to regulate the boost.
oh and i would run 4:10's mach 1's love the rpm and rev high

eventually i may be able to get a f1 but for now its just the p1 till i find a cheap d1. and as for gears lookin at 3.90's since its a dd. so well see how she turns out.

Sounds good man. That CR will be a nice compliment to the Centrif.

If he's also going with a T56 then 4.10s are fine. If not I'd say 3.90's especially if it's DD.

lol bottom end is gettin forged. got some 50 lbrs. eventually goin to get a d1 when i have the money and find one. it is a dd and she is gettin 3.90's. and thats my friend is a the summary. lol
