Default 4500 accufab on a stock ls1

Ive got a stock ci ls1 that has a cam and spring upgrade only. its a drag only car runs 6.70,s. currently has a super victor with elbow and a 90mm single blade throttle body on it.open headers. I was given a accufab 4500 TB with adapter to fit a 4150 flange to try. Is the 4500 too much even though it is drag only?. And if it is, could it work using only two barrels of it?

Your engine can handle only so much air for a given setup. If the present 90mm TB is feeding the horses and it likely is, a larger one won't increase power.

If not for HP gains, why change the setup, especially if you can use only half the capacity of the TB?

looking for consistency in bracket racing. current set up gets too much hot air from under hood. looking at putting an air dam under hood with the four barrel style TB

No way to duct air to the present TB? If you change it over, you risk actually losing power with an unknown setup.

The elbows are known to cause distribution issues and kill power.

For EFI you can't really get too big of a TB. A carb can be too large because you need enough signal to fuel properly.

Throw it on there. You might want to try a plenum spacer if you can too.
