Default Going to the track tomorrow! Advice and suggestions appreciated!

Hey guys,

Im off to the track tomorrow night, first time ever! If you have any suggestions or advice, it would be greatly appreciated. Here is a lil bit about the car.

Its a relatively stock 99 WS6. All I did to it was a PRO 5.0 shifter, Eagle F1 GSD-3's out back, SLP Lid and a ported&polished throttle body. I've had the car for two seasons now and do race occasionally with a few local guys, but never been to the track so I am a bit nervous and don't know what to expect.

Keep the suggestions coming. I have a feeling ill be somewhere in the mid to high 13's.

Don't go through the waterbox.

Make sure traction control is off (If you have it).

Go as the third yellow light hits.

Don't be pressured to run a certain time either.

Have fun

Ah, I drive a stalled auto, so I can't help you on what RPM to slip/dump the clutch at. Your performance is also going to vary based on how far above or below sea level you are at....

So which track are you going to?

i would say start at like a 3k rpm launch with slipping the clutch a little then play with it from there.

Elevation appears to be 700 feet according to one source.

I would lower it around 25 psi and bump the fronts to around 39-40.

Hmm, depending on how I bet your 60 ft was, that might be just right. MPH ok, but I don't know what RPM you were shifting at, or what gear you went through the traps at either.

The above run was done with a 2.3 60 foot and i was going thru the traps in fourth. I was shifting at 6K in each gear.
