Default Think my POS cobra will run 10.50's

Bored at work. Will be putting on a intercooled novi 2k on in a few months. Just wondering what some of you think it'll do. I was hoping it'd go 10.50's in good air. But I'd settle for 10's with the stock longblock and the blower. Here's some info on my car:

3050lbs w/ me and fuel (pre-blower)
Current power: 320rwhp

Ok, time to walk around the office and get a coke.

Stock longblock with just the addition of the blower

Going to try and limit it to 10psi. My hypereutectics and powdered rods are going to be really mad if I go any higher. lol.

The tune will probably be on 93 but I will add 100 for a safety factor.

EDIT: I want to stay under 450rwhp so the motor can live for a little. I'll build it later.

Given how hard you run your car Mark, I wouldn't go higher tha 8psi for certain and I'd have it tuned around 400RWHP.

Personally, I don't think you'll drop over a full second with just the addition of 80-100rwhp. I may be way off on that and I hope I am as I'd love to hear of you doing so. I'd guess 10.9-11.1 area. A lot depends on how much you push it with the Novi though.

That's my 2 cents anyway.

Its got a 3.5" pulley on it and that pulley has been known to make 14psi at 7k so with the IC and my free flowing intake and exhaust I don't think I'll make that much boost. My motor is about as efficient as I can get it in stock form. So what ever rpm it hits 10psi I'll set the limiter for that I guess.

It goes 1.56-1.59 60fts now I'm sure with another 100rwhp it should go mid to low 1.4's. That should put me in the 7.0's in the 8th at close to 100mph. That should be a 10sec pass I would think.

I've see full blown race cars weight just under 3k with 380rwhp run 10.80's. I figured I'm close to their weight and will have a hair more power that it should be close.

It will be really close. Depending on how you 60' I can see a 10.6-10.9.

you may not hit high psi, but that's only half the issue. WIth your airflow mods, it basically means you need less PSI for the same amount of power with someone that doesn't have those mods (generally speaking, not always of course). I just personally wouldn't go above 400-420rwhp 380-400rwtq on that short block. setting your limiter lower will help a tad, but with those cams and a centrif. charger you'll also lose some power up top by comparison.

I'd love to see you hit mid 10s no matter what power you're putting down though.

10.50's? Highly doubt it...even at your lean race weight.
10.90's? Very possible.
11.20's? More realistic.

Ya I think the 10.50's was a stretch. I'm sure it'll do that once I build the bottom end. But I'm I think 10.80's isn't too far of a stretch. Had a buddy with a 99 cobra that ran 11.80's n/a then hit it with a 150 shot it went 10.89 at 125mph.

They should be fine at the 450rwhp level. His ET is going to come from
raceweight and 60'...not power.

I think you definitely could run a 10.90, but it'll most likely take some work to get to that point. I would expect some 11.30's the first time
out then you'll probably have to dial things in a bit to get it to run a number.

always wondered how that Cobra ran 11.7x....that thing is a regular lightweight...I think you'll see high 10s with some practice. People forget you're adding torque too with the blower not just hp
