Let me guess: 10 years ago you heard the term "Nitrous Oxide" and it rang any bells at all, you would be backpedalling saying 'I don't want to go to the dentist! You can't make me!' as you threw your little fit just like my kids do.
No you don't lol. The technology has come a LONG way since the late 80's. I vote dig, a more complete evaluation of how well a car was put together rather than how much power you can get out of the engine.

hahaha I was in no way implying I know alot about specific nitrous use or install info: that stuffs practically a black art. Just that I've been around it, talked about it, helped guys install it, and seen tons of installed systems for a damned bit longer than since the lame *** fast n furious movie came out.

Oh yeah, while I'm on the subject: Drifting. How the hell the Japanese could take what us rwd, v8 gearheads have been doing for 50+ years and make it into a Japanese or "ricer" thing is dumbfounding. So I guess my friends and I invented it back in the early 90's when I was competing with friends to see who could keep the tires spinning the longest around large empty parking lot courses in my '78 454 Z28? Wonder if we have a trademark dispute there...

My brother and I race from a roll usually. Less stress on the drive train and doesn't eat up the rear tires. When we race from a dig or a roll we are even through first so might as well put less stress on the cars.

If anyone asks to race from a dig or a roll I'll do either, don't care. And for the guy that said he'd rather race from a dig so he can row through a bunch of gears, instead of punching it and just changing gears a few times, that makes no sense to me.

When I race my bro from a dig I take off, switch to second, third, then fourth.
When we roll race we go from a 20mph roll, take off, switch to second, third, then fourth.

this post has it down to a t.

it seems auto guys swear by digs and call people who dont like digs pussies or something.

it also seems manual guys dont mind racing from either a roll or a dig.
( i wonder the % of people who voted dig and hate roll racing also have an auto)
and lastly awd turbo guys would race on glass if they could.

me personally i did more dig races in my old fwd car then any of my rwd cars. we used to just race, no excuses. be it a dig or a roll.

Now your gettin it. If I had my car with big slicks and a 9inch I'd bust everyone's ***** and call them pussies so I'd always have the best chance to win. No one like's loosing I guess.

And the comment about the AWD guys racing on glass...I used to tell my brother "I bet when we set up races with the STi's around here, the night before they go out and sprinkle sand all over the spot where we launch from so they'll win. :Jest:

Well ****...you must be Billy Glidden, a nitrous expert, considering you installed a home built system on a 4 cylinder Escort!

Honestly, WTF is going on around here. It's about time to clean house again and keep 'Tech moving in the right direction.

not sure how that makes sense since driving a stick from a dig is harder.

we used to have a thing where you had to beat someone from a dig and a roll to say you managed to beat someone in a race.

and we used to have to set up a race with awd guys in this fashion. pick and evo/sti and race from a roll then once the roll is done you come to a stop right there and do the dig run. if you let the awd guy pick the dig spot its gonna be dusty and wet. but we did have some very very very fast awd cars back in the day.

Trap speed or a 1/4 mile typically... How far do you want to go?

we normally would do dig runs 1/2 mile to 3/4 depending on the stretch of highway we use.

thats if we have the space. i've seen a dig runs go a decent mile if a certain length needed to be pulled on someone for it to be a win.

That's crazy, exact same thing here. Sti guys around here won't say they won unless they beat us at a roll, which they haven't yet.

If I race a skittle from a dig and I destroy him, but from a roll he keeps pulling away from me I don't consider it a win for me. I have to do both.
