Default hp to wt ratio

Given the GT is about a full 400lbs heavier than a base c5 coupe/frc wouldnt that negate the 50 or 60 fly wheel ponies it is rated at in stock form?

Judging by the track times the GT is running, obviously not. A 5th gen will out run a C5, a GT will outrun a 5th gen. It is really kind of simple.

Some guys are kind of in denial.

Judging by track time on the new GT, they are pretty damn close to the 05-07 LS2's 1/4 time

Hard to deny facts. They may not like them, but that doesn't mean squat.

It WILL walk all over a c5/fbody/5th gen. It will be the closest out of the newer cars with the Zo6. I would probably put it on par with an 03/04 Cobra.

Wow... Dumb pissing contest thread turned to classified want ad...

Back on track here... According to the dyno that was done, the GT made 390RWHP. So if that's true (which I still won't believe until I see a dyno from a shop here in LA that I know isn't full of ****) that would put the new GT's 1/4 on par with the Cobra. We're talking about the same amount of weight/power between the two. The Cobra would have more torque, but the GT has better gearing.

All things considering, it should definitely beat a Base/Vert C5 stock for stock. I don't believe it has a snow-ball's chance in hell of beating a C5Z stock for stock with identically skilled drivers.

I'd like to know where you guys are getting your numbers from. Wasn't that dyno of the GT done at the same place that dyno'd a GT500 at 510 or so? I like how motortrend says the v-6 puts down 308hp/287tq in the video and they seem to be misleading as if this is wheel numbers. Website says they assume 15% dt loss. Benchracing ftl.

And you are on crack.

Is the corvette list supposed to tell us anything? That list means nothing for average times.

Well I understand that I was just saying there is a potential for a drivers race...Still 110-111 is what the new GT traps i thought...? Im not saying the new GT isnt faster in general...but a great driver in a c5 will be a good race for an avg driver in a GT

I could care less what any car traps. I thought we were talking about drag racing? In that sense the C5 will not be a drivers race for a new GT.
A great driver in a C5 and an average/below driver in a GT will be a good run. No offense, who cares?
A bad driver in a Zo6 and a great driver in an fbody and it would be a decent race, does that make it a drivers race?

No that doesnt make it a drivers race between a c5z and fbody ur talking about a car that traps 106 or so vs one that traps 117. Thats not a drivers race at all 108-110 vs a 110-111 car is alot closer to being classified as a drivers race...Either way the new stang is Bad Azz, And i despise stangs
