So, yesterday my uncle brought over a 04 Mach 1 he was working on and I took it for a drive. Its BONE STOCK. Doesnt feel all that fast. My 02 z28 a4 feels faster. Not taking anything away from the car, its nice and has some umph but when it was WOT I look at the speedo and it was 70 mph felt like 100 mph. It just doesnt feel the way I thought it should.
My question is what do they usually run and do they all feel that sluggish stock? AGAIN, Its a nice car and ran great I would def. own one( not for 18K tho) but, I dont want to start a flame or ford vs chevy thing. Just a simple question THATS ALL.

Stock for Stock M6 LS1 f body vs. a Mach 1 5 Speed is a drivers race until you get up into the gears (3rd plus) where the LS1 will start to slowly creep away.
I hear that light to light they're very good cars tho.

They are pretty quick, just as quick as a stock f-body, but the way the power is delivered with the DOHC motor is smoother so you don't feel it in your seat as much. I just sold a 99 cobra with essentially the same motor, and it felt the same way. I had to look at the speedo to get a feel for how fast I was going because the linear power plus 4.10's made is feel very relaxed when it was floored. I prefer the brute torque feel of the pushrod motor personally.
Someday he'll throw some blowmasters on that mach and you'll wish your car could sound that good every time you see it though

Yeah, he has a slight mechanics lean on it... LOL but, he said I could get it for 7K. I called the bank and got the loan. Picking it up tomorrow. The only bad thing about it is, the lady that had it took the mach 1 wheels off of it and sold them. So, this car was on jack stands for a bit and my Uncle did some work and replaced the tires and wheels with GT wheels.
And, its hit a guard rail and knocked off the bottom door ferring but the whole car is straight. Just need the ferring. Looked it up at a junk yard for 40 bucks. After its fixed, TIME TO SELL!

I remember when my car was totally stock except for a lid and catback, I raced a mach 1 on the street. For the first 3 seconds we were even, then I slowly started pulling away. They're nice cars. I've always liked how they look.
