So my buddy's friend just got a 1997 Trans Am. Bone stock and automatic, and he INSISTS it will be a really close race when we run.

I have a 1998 Camaro Z28. My mods are in my sig, dynoed at 335/350 on a dynojet before my LS6 intake, K&N system, and P+P TB.

I'm curious as to how much you guys think i should beat him from a dig to 110 or a 40-110 roll, as i have never ran an LT1 before.

Also, i can't seem to find any concrete info on what the 1997 Trans Am with an automatic tranny is from 0-60 and the quarter mile. Best i could find was 5.8 and 14.4, but it doesn't specify if thats automatic or 6-speed. Any ideas which you think it is, or what it would be for an automatic?

I appreciate any info and opinions you guys have! Race will take place within the next two or three weeks, as soon i can replace my fuel sending unit and get a new dyno tune. Will try to get vids!

Not even going to look like a race. He's in the 14s and you should be capable of high 12s.

 

i hit 13.5 stock with just nitto drag radials

you will beat him like a red headed step child of course depending if you can actually drive your car

 

BEfore the race go to the store and get him a couple eye patches, because he's gonna need them lol

 

When you hit the gas it will look like he locked up the ABS

 

haha thanks guys, i'm pumped for all the confidence! Only problem is my poor car is doing some really weird stuff up over 4000rpm, so race is postponed till i figure out whats wrong and fix it : \
