H/C/I LS1 vs Ported 03 Cobra
I have a race coming up with a friend of mine.
03 Cobra
Posi Ported Eaton blower
2.76 Pulley
Fluidyne heat exchanger
JLT intake
Catless X pipe
Magnaflow cat back
Getting dyno tuned on a dyno jet this weekend. Expecting 490-515 rwhp
VS
2000 WS6 6 speed
TFS 215 heads 60cc
227/233 custom cam
UD pulley
Full Exhaust
Fast 92 ported intake
92mm throttle body
Z06 MAF
98mm Lid
stock 10 bolt with 3.42 gears
455rwhp 414rwtq on a Mustang Dyno
If both cars are driven equally and both get traction, who do you think would win on a roll race ?

I was supposed to be doing almost the same exact race in like 2 weeks but the cobra went and spun a bearing and is torn apart now. But i would say you would have had the edge. You and i make the same power diff car but if you win i would feel safe in saying i would have too C5 Z06. Let us know how it goes! Take Vids!

If you were already planning on losing ac for the ram air, do it. If not keep ac. If that is going to change the outcome of a race, its too lose anyway. I also personally would skip taking the seats out.
If this is some big race with huge **** talking, might be different opinion.
The win is definitely is your favor. Higher the race starts and longer it goes the more you have it locked down. On average a cobra needs around 70-80rwhp more than an fbody to make it just about a dead nuts race.

Assuming a typical roll race from 20ishmph- 130+, you'll get him but not by much. Really I see this more as a driver's race. A friend of mine has an 03 with a 2.8 pulley, unported Eaton, bolt ons that made 468rwhp and runs 11.5's @122-123mph. Assuming equal drivers, you'll get him but no more than 1.5 car lengths.

Because he makes enough power to off set the weight difference.
70-80 is way too high unless the fbody has a lot of weight reduction. A properly running cobra only needs about 40hp more to make it an even race. But then again i know some cobras that run very well like they should. A ported blower cobra should be very low 11's at least

It will be very, very rare for a cobra to only need 40 more rwhp to outrun/equal an fbody from a roll.60 would be a fair average both ways.
Hell 70rwhp more than a c5z and they still get pulled.
Their weight hurts them pretty badly, just like a 5th own camaro.
