Question Trans am vs c5 (stock)

On my way to work I had a run in with an auto c5 from a low roll...20mph or so. He got the hit and by 45mph I was dead even when we had to stop. How much power am I really making? Stock I got a base line and it was 300/320. Now with the ls6intake,full exhaust,pp/tb,free mods, and a tune it showed 308/331. How much rwhp is needed to pull back on a stock auto c5.

the cars are the same power stock vs stock the f-bodys were rated lower hp to not compete with sales of the vette the corvette makes up for it with being lighter, it dosnt take very many mods a bolt on T/A could do it

^this. stock for stock they are pretty much dead even until you go over 100mph. any light bolt on fbody should be able to take a stock c5

Im pretty sure the corvettes got a tad bit more aggresive cam though.. not enough to make a decent difference though
Should be VERY close with you having the edge.

Nope, they are the same - just tuned a little better to free up hp and the vettes are lighter.

I belong to a corvette club and I have had PLENTY of arguments with some of the less informed c5 owners who refuse to belive that the same engine in my trans am is the same in there vette ther is NO difference what so ever, they were just rated at different HP from the factory to not compete with each other. ive had them argue that the heads are different the pistons are different and that its NOT THE SAME MOTOR, but alot of them shut up with my stock trand am dynoed 30 more HP on a dyno than there C5s simply because the solid axle loses less hp than the IRS. which is a proven fact stock for stock a Trans am will dyno HIGHER than a Vette.

the only reason a vette is faster is factored down to the Weight, Gearing, arodynamics and the fact it can run a true x pipe system where T/As always had to have y pipes until recently.
