Arrow What to expect on track?

Ive yet to take my 2000 M6 to the track, will be going to the track March 4th, lookin forward to gettin my time slip for the first time in this car. My mods are in my signature, any ideas on what I should turn, its on regular street tires, good tread hankook, what would the car be capable of realisitically? Ive yet to see a real time of what people are turning out in a similar setup, I live in mustang country and it sucks.

Lots of other stuff to consider here. But i couldnt see why you wouldnt be in the 12s for sure. In my 99 on 245 street tires i had a 2.0 60 i ran a 13.3. my mods were cai, tb spacer, and thats it. so i would say 12s for sure depending on how you drive and if you hook

cool, i am hoping for 12s but i dont want to go and have a huge let down when i run a mid 13 or something. I havent had an issue with hookin up, Im use to driving foxbodies with crazy gears and what not, this car is remarkably easy to drive

my guess is low 13s with a 2.3 60' time. First time out people tend to really mess up the launch and spin the tires. if you have open clear highway where you can practice launches your first time at the actual track would be better. remember until you roll forward the time doesnt actually start. your reaction time might show sucking but your 1/4 mile will benefit. it is natural the first time out to get so hyped up when the light goes green to just dump the clutch and punch it.

My guess would be low to mid 13s with street tires and the 342s. My 2000 Z28 M6 went 12.8 at 106 with the only mods being a lid, headers and ory, and a 410 gear on a set of et streets. Speedometer was calibrated with a diablo tuner. I cut 2.0 60s on street tires and ran 13.1.This was at Bristol, TN with all stock suspension.

its not my first time at the track, just with this car, everywhere i go typically i drive aggressively, since doing the suspension mods I havent had an issue with wheel spin, some at high rpms but at the track i wont have the same problem as gravel roads. If my tires are cold, terrible traction problems, once warm they actually stick well, im surprised by the hankooks. Im more or less what should I expect from the car, not me. I know some runs i may do horrible, some may do well. ive seen bone stock with slicks do high 12s, i hope with my mods im doing the same

There is a lot to consider, I have similar mods and my best is 13.3 with a 2.0 60foot.

I agree here I think low 13s strictly because of the street tires they will NOT hook, a better indication of how much power the car is making will be your MPH, MPH tells horsepower. ET can change substantially due to traction. I will guess you trap around 108 -109 mph tho.

Im good with 13s, Im too scared of throwing slicks on a 10 bolt, its my DD so the last thing I need is to blow that sucker!

You'll be looking good to get a 2.0 short time your first pass in the car. Depends on the DA that night also. But I'll guess a 2.1x short time and a 13.0 @ 109 ish

Again, your car is capable of going faster, but you just don't have the seat time yet bro. You'll get there. Make 7 or 8 passes that night. Maybe after a few full out runs, just work on your short times and shifting instead of beating the snot out of it.

Hard to say. The key with my car on stock size street tires is to launch at 4k rpms slipping the clutch a little bit to keep wheel spin under control and not brake the ten bolt. My best 60' is 1.89 on street tires at 12.75@110.98 MPH with full Bolton's granted I have a stock lq4 but if I would have launched the same with the ls1 I would have ran 12s easy. With the ls1 leaving off idle I went 13.17@ 108.

As a comparison years ago when my turbo regal was pretty stock it went 12.70@ 109 with a 2.0 60 ft. on street tires. I borrowed a set of slicks the same day and went 12.20@ 109 with a 1.7x 60 ft... So 109 mph is low 12s with good traction.

I completely understand, Im building a 550 ish HP LQ4 for my WS6, which still has the stock trans and rear which I know will be living on borrowed time.

Loving all the posts, it looks pretty safe to say a pretty low 13, my track opens up for test and tune on March 4th, I will have to post up my time slips when I do my runs.
