Default Torquer V3 and 243's.....is this about right?

Ok everyone, car is 02' Z28

Stock bottom end, 243's, Torquer V3 cam, LS6 intake, LT's, 3" ORY, LM1 exhaust, A4 with 3200 PTC stall, and 9" with 3.70 gears.

I took it to have it tuned a while back and it made 370/350. It had about a 6" spot in the exhaust they had down to a 2 1/4" pipe to clear the tunnel brace and it had a way wrong converter in it.

Car drives a ton better. Do the #'s sound about right or should I shop for a new tuner?

I've tuned several V3s - only one was an auto. Pretty similar to yours. Was 241 heads with a fast - 3200 stall - stock 10 bolt. Made 375 to the tire. Not to far off for cam only (mostly) on a stalled auto.

Was the converter locked. And do you have the graph?

Do you still have the crap exhaust on it?

After seeing what dual 2.25" exhaust can do to a cammed ls1, a single 2.25" even a couple inches long will kill your flow.

Stock 243s?

Don't have the graph and don't know if the converter was locked. When it was tuned before it had some trans issues which turned out to be a bad TPS causing some crazy shifts. It also had a Yank PY3600 stall in it which was causing it to drop from 6200 to 4000 on the shifts since it was so tight. The tuner suggested I change converters and bring it back for him to get the shift points set right but the engine tune would be ok.

I did replace the crappy exhaust with a 3" Pace setter ORY. I think it needs to be retuned as it doesn't shift gears until 3K RPM's on every shift. PTC also told me not to go WOT with the new converter until I had it tuned since I didn't know if the current tune had the TCC lockup turned off at WOT.

OK everyone. Vengeance Racing got the car running better. He told me it wouldn't be a dyno queen and that's fine. The car drove like crap before I took it today. It's like a different car. I'm very happy so far. He even got a couple more ponies out of it.

It made 393HP/360TQ with the converter unlocked through the 3200 stall and 9" Ford rear, so I'm happy with what I've got. We'll get the #'s that matter next week at the track.
