Winter LQ9 Build, Guess my power!
starting to build a 408 with a Lq9 block to go in my WS.6 let me know what you think my power or et's will be to the crank or wheels
6.0 LQ9 .030 over
408 Forged Stroker Kit TSP
LS6 Intake
Ported Stock TB
Magic Stick 3 or 4 Cam
241 or 243 Heads CNC'd
1 3/4 Longtubes
ORY
Electric Cutout
T-56 & Monster Clutch
and soon to be 9" with 3.73's-4.11's (not sure yet)
I need to know opinions on REAR GEARS and 241 vs 243 CNC'd CYLINDER HEADS. is it really worth $1800
Keep in mind i have a limited budget that will mostly go towards the stroker kit. The only thing im considering not using from my LS1 are the heads. FAST intakes/tb's are way too expensive for me for now.
LMK All opinions and experience, thanks

You wanna make 500+ RWHP....use some ported L92 heads and L76 intake. $1,500 for the heads completely assembled.
My builder here has pumped out dozens of 408 and 416 engines making upwards of 525 RWHP with everything you have there except his own ported L92 heads and L76 intakes.

yeah i would like to see peak power at 500+ on a chassis dyno, but what i really want is a low 7's high 6's 1/8th mile car on drag radials.
I also want to go with a stroker so i will not sacrifice much lower rpm torque with the big cam i want so it will still be a good street racing car around town.

i dont want to leave alot on the table if i can help it. may have to go with l92's but if it doesnt hurt it that much, id rather save money by re-using my ls6 intake

An ls6 intake would be SUPER restrictive on a 408 trying to make 500whp, you could always put an ls3 intake on there(they can be had for about $150-$250 just depending and its a 90mm intake) and factory ls3/l92 heads(which if im not mistaken flow like low 300s) and a custom cam to match the heads and you might not hit 500 but you will get very close if not hit it.
