Default Power numbers! what should I expect?

Alright guys

So I feel like I just made a mistake, After months of searching I determined that the tsp228r would be good for me. I drive the snot out of my car and its a daily.

Up until a few weeks ago I was set on something quite a bit bigger. torquer v2 and v3, streetsweeper SSHT and others.

My goal is 400whp and id like to get about 420 if possible

Right now I have

pacesetter Lt's

no cats,

SLP LM2

t56

Slp Flopack

descreened maf

and a few other go fast trinkets that I cant think of.

With my install I have ls2 injectors with all the appropriate adapters, ill be buying a 78mm TB and then my cam.

Will I hit my goal or did I go too small on the cam?

In a year or so I will do ls6 heads and intake.

This is a budget build which is why you dont see me going with a fast 90/90 or something.

what should I expect guys? help me out here

A 228r should have no problem getting 400whp or more with a proper matched setup and good tune.

With a ls1 intake you will not make 400rwhp on an honest dyno with stock heads and a 228R. Expect ~375 SAE corrected on a dynojet, maybe 380 on a good day. But to be fair the other cams you mentioned wouldn't get you there with your current set up either.

What throttle body are you buying? A ported stock TB is all you need until you upgrade to a 90mm intake. There is nothing to gain over a ported stock TB up until you have a better intake.

If you go "too small" you enjoy the car it is still a big step up from stock but want more, which is the foundation of this whole hobby.

If you go "too big" you endup disappointed in the manners and performance and I have seen guys loose interest in cars over it.

I was just going to buy a 78MM cause I can get it for only 120. nobody around here does porting and I dont have the right tools to do it myself. I knew I wouldnt hit 400 with the cam only but I just better hit it after I do heads and intake

You can get a ported tbody for about $60 . But you have to send yours back after you get the one they send you .
